Personal Narrative: Kaitlyn Cross
At a young age, I had discerned that to be free, one had to be true to themselves first. Therefor I made it a life goal to always be myself, no matter what consequences were in store for me, just as long as I never regretted the path my life undertook. Furthermore, from that day, no one could ever say that I, Kaitlyn Cross, was not free, because at that moment in time the starting point of a long and chaotic journey began. This journey was what I called my life though it didn’t stop me from wondering about one thing; How did I get into this dilemma? Though like times before I had the same epiphany as always, which was that I had volunteered.
Suddenly breaking me out of my thoughts, I heard the speakers crackle to life like they always do
before an announcement. “The train going to Area 14A-16D is now loading,” was broadcast throughout the train terminal, which prompted me to walk expeditious to the train. Moreover as I came into view of the train, I saw the doors about to close. I knew if I missed the train I would have to deal with an irritated boss, along with my new Patrol Leader. I managed to slip past the doors before they closed, which caused me to sigh in relief. The train suddenly jolted forward causing me to stumble before recovering my footing.
