I can still remember the day I knew I wanted to move to Arizona. I was in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, working a new store opening for Longhorn Steakhouse. It was a Saturday night and we were getting slammed in the kitchen. My job was to train and coach the new cooks through the shift. I was sweating like I was running a marathon in the summer heat of Arizona. After the big push of guests came through the kitchen, and the new cooks could handle the line, the trainers and I headed to the back line to get a start on the prep for Sunday. I overheard my Training Coordinator talking to some of the other trainers about Arizona.

I know what one is thinking “scary” right? I thought I would check it out and see what the cost of living would be like in Arizona. I had a free account for about one month and didn’t find much. If one has a free account one cannot check the person’s profile until one is a member. Finally, one day at work, I was talking to a coworker and she said that she had used the site previously to find a roommate. Since I knew the website was credited, I purchased an account. Within a week I receive an email regarding moving to Arizona. I told Kirk, my future roommate, the range I was willing to pay and what I was going to be doing in Arizona. We talked over a few months just getting to know each other. It was January, and I told my general manager that I would stay until March 1st. I told the Kirk that March 1st was the time frame I was going to be moving. He told me he would keep looking to see if he could find anything else sooner.
