Regis were gone, there had been fires, thousands were dead or injured, many were trying to save people from the wreckage, rescuing newborn babies. That day all of Mexico was grieving, scared and hopeless. We were allowed to leave some hours later to see our families and as I went on the same path home, I started to really notice what had happened; the pavement was cracked open! The same street I had been driving through just a few moments before was a mess. I don’t understand how I lived one of Mexico’s worst disasters and nearly even noticed.
