that is when I quit Soccer to run Cross Country. From my tenth grade year all the way up to my twelfth grade year I participate in all running sports. My education has been impacted do to my love for running. In order to be eligible to be apart of a sport, grades have to stay up. Since I couldn’t loose running i had to study harder and pay attention more. School is very important to me but with running involved it became more important to me knowing that one slip up there goes practically my life. My main goal in life is to become a counselor for substance abuse. My career will start in August at Mohawk Valley Community College to study and become a Chemical Development Practitioner. Eventually, I want to move to Tennessee and pursue my dreams in becoming a doctor in Psychology. I have a strong passion in my career choice because I have many family members and friends that like to abuse substances that now, have ruined their lives. Their lives won’t ever be the same and that is all because the choices they made were influenced by their so called friends. I have helped many friends realise that abusing any substance is incredibly ignorant. All my “friends” go out to party on the weekends where i choose to stay home and relax or work. Names get thrown at me, like stop being a stick in the mud, how about you learn to relax and let loose. If they only focused about what can happen rather than living in the moment they should look ahead to their future. I strongly believe that this scholarship is deserved to me because of the time and dedication that i put into running. Not just in school do I run but after school I continue to run. Running is a stress reliever for me and is my escape from life when having a bad day. I hope to be a great candidate for the Utica Roadrunners Scholarship.
