Personal Narrative: Moving To Aldershot
For most of my childhood, I had lived in the town of Aldershot, also known as the home of the British Army. Despite Aldershot being in the south of England and only about forty miles away from London, it wasn't exactly a dream town everyone wanted live in, although I can remember Aldershot's transition throughout the years and how it has changed since then. My family and I had moved to Aldershot when I was about four, living in a small house with only three rooms, with my parents working at a nearby restaurant whilst I went to school. I can recall how Every Saturday, I'd go to my fathers work and spend my time playing video games and when he was off duty, he'd take my mother and I to eat a delicious meal there! Of course, living in the south …show more content…
By this time, my parents had quit their jobs working in a restaurant and had transitioned to another job. I spent a very large portion of my time living here, and despite us having the most unpleasant neighbours you can imagine, it was quite nice. By this time, I was old enough to go to town by myself with some friends, so after learning the way, I went with my friends. The whole setting of Aldershot depends a colossal amount, as some parts can be very clean, pleasant whilst others are quite the opposite, although I suppose you could say this about most towns. With Aldershot being a small town, there wasn't really much you could do there, so we took pleasure in the little things in life such as visiting the forest around the Wellington Statue and exploring just about every place we could think of. There weren't many options in terms of schools in my area, so this meant that many of my friends who lived near me also attended the same school as me so that meant that I would go to town quite frequently since my parents didn't need to drive me to their

Every year, my summer consist of my family and I traveling around the states. Boston Massachusetts, was one of the states that built the love and appreciation I have for nature. The Boston Tea Party Museum was located between Congress St and Seaport Blvd. The city its self was appealing. Trees and flowers you’d Normally see on the TV, Big Houses with paintings so bright you think it was painted every-week.The lawns was tidy, plantings and the trees were clipped to purity. Where I was standing, the sidewalks were smooth and clean. No cracks, no unruffled spots. It was the most errorless town I had ever seen. The museum was a long way from the neighbor I was at. The drive didn’t seem like it was half an hour; more like couple of minutes. From…

Driving down the street we don’t always pay attention to signs, buildings, or street names. I do it every day. On my way to school and work there are dozens of businesses and signs that are just blurs in the corner of my eye. One business that I have always noticed was the furniture store, H3 Home + Decor, off of Harkrider Street. Every time I drive by I see the larger than life billboard on the side of the building. The billboard is a bright green living room set that attracts the eye of nearly everyone driving by.…

It all started when we left from the hotel around five o’clock, hoping to get to the CN Tower on time. We were on vacation in Toronto in mid July, we had just arrived here a day ago from Niagara Falls. When we left we would have never imagined that this would be one of the longest walks some of us have taken. Pleasantly, we left for the CN Tower, which we thought couldn’t be a great amount of distance from our hotel. We were wrong!…

The day I found out I would be moving from Roseville to Alpena was probably the worst day of my life. I remember the day I found out about the move. Not only was I really upset because I would be moving away from my friends and family, but I was really scared. We were moving to the middle of nowhere, where I knew not a single person. I would be going into my 6th grade year in the fall, my first year of middle school. My brother and I did everything we could to try to sabotage the move, but sadly our plans failed. Nothing could stop this from happening. Everything I knew… was about to change.…

I did not grow up in a single town; I actually grew up in seven different towns, in four different states and two different countries. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio. I grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi; Warner Robins, Georgia; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Ottawa, Ontario; Dayton, Ohio; Adana, Turkey; and Beavercreek, Ohio. In all of the places I have lived, I lived on the Air Force Base, because my mom is in the Air Force, except in my current residence Beavercreek, I live off base. When I lived on Air Force bases, the community I was in was close. There were many times that my brothers and I would be playing on a friend’s lawn or walking over to another neighborhood to visit other friends. The houses we lived in, depended on what rank my mother…

Out of all the places I have ever lived, Amherst has been my favorite. The main reason I love this town is the house I grew up in. When I was four my family moved to Amherst from Georgia. We stayed in a little house and then a couple months later moved into the house I live in now. It is a large old house that sits adjacent to a farm, a forest and a street. It has always been a comforting environment full of family friends sports teams and other people who stop by. What has been even better though is the neighborhood around my house. Especially the farm and forest. My brothers and I have spent a lot of time down at the farm. We walk down to the farm, smelling the smoke of an old John Deere tractor that passed by half an hour ago, and sit in the fields talking about our days and other things on our minds. If we ever got hungry we would pick nearby fennel. Even after we washed it we could still taste the bits of dirt that we didn’t wash off. By the end of our trips our hands would be caked in mud and bits of vegetables that we had been eating. The path we took back to our house was through a forest that is between our house and the farm. The walks through the thick forest were always fun. We loved to make our own paths and see what trees we could climb. We could hear the scuttling of small creatures fleeing and could feel the thorns scraping our bare legs at the same time. Almost every day when I was younger I would explore the forest on the way to the farm. Amherst is my favorite place in the…
