One significant experiance in my life has been my dad being in the Millitary. My dad was in the Millitary for a short time of one year before he decided it wasnt for him. But in that one year we moved two times. We moved from my hometown of Anacortes Washington to California. I started school and things werent that bad, I made friends and had a park right across the street from my house! life was good. But then we had to move again, to Arizona. We moved from sea side California to the Arizona Dessart. This is where I was really challanged, I didnt make friends as easy as the first move. We moved from a spacious town house with a park to a tiny appartment with no backyard. I distanced myself from my parents and everyone else in my family, I

My father worked in the United States Marine core during my adolescent years, and because of it we were constantly moving around. I believe it made me more of an adaptable person, however once I met whom I considered my best friend moving around was not so fun anymore. I’ve always been more of a quiet person so meeting friends was not easy for me, and the few I had were as close to me as family. Moving to Philadelphia from Virginia was very traumatic for me at that age. My parents told me that I would have many meaningful people come in and out of my life as time went on, but at the time I figured I would never find another friend like the one I had. After months of being in a very depressive state I became very close friends with our neighbor’s daughter whom is still one of my closest…

I am a godparent of an 8-year-old little girl. Before I moved to Houston our bond was tight and still is even though we are miles away. Every day we talk or Skype on the phone. When she has homework that she does not understand she will Skype me and we will do her homework together. Every summer for two weeks she comes to see me or I will go home to see her. As much as I can, I step in and provide when her mother needs help. As she gets older I am sure our connection will continue to grow.…

The first place I would pick to move to is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Everyone forgets about this part of Michigan, half of the time it isn’t on the weather maps on the news. I think it would still be hard because I would have to pick up my life and transfer it to another world. At this point I understand that I would have to give up the luxuries I love so much. I would keep my phone but I cannot take my entire bedroom, my car, or my school with me. I know a lot of my family would stay put. They would suffer through it because they wouldn’t believe it until it was actually happening. My mother’s side of the family is very old fashioned and will not leave their ground because they have already been here so long and have worked so hard.…

One day I came home from school and saw a moving truck in front of my home. The first thing I did was find my parents to ask them if we were moving. They both said yes, all of us are moving to Fresno California. I was afraid because I had lived in Modesto my entire life and was very comfortable here. I knew my way around Modesto and especially my school where I had many friends and knew the teachers well. Modesto, after all, is my hometown and now I'm transferring to a foreign place. When all of us arrived in Fresno we stayed there a couple of weeks and realized the house had a huge amount of issues such as with leaking water pipes, a broken heater and a variety of other problems. My dad said “Maybe we are not meant to live here”. Finally…

The work on the plantations is very exhausting, and I wish I could move back to Shanghai in China. There are other ethnicities here like Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese, but I usually talk with the other Chinese immigrants. Apparently, there is another language called Pidgin that everyone speaks so they can understand each other. How is everyone else doing over the past 10 years that I have been gone? I hope everything has been fine back in China.…

Moving is hard, especially when you go from North Carolina to California. My mom said i’ll be alright so did my brother but now I don't know. I heard great things about Pescadero, California like how few tourist are there, the open beaches and hiking spot. But isn’t that what all apartments say to get you to pack and come running to “The Golden State”. All I can think about is turning back and running to Mama’s arm and crying on my annoying brother Luther’s shoulder.…

Hey you decided to read some more? Cool maybe this is not as dull as I thought? Nah probably still is. Let’s see here I have lived in three different states for over a year. One of those states is Colorado; you know, back when it was a place known for skiing and its great mountains. The “Mile high state”. Now? It’s still known as the “mile high state”just for different reasons. I have also lived in Kansas, although I was pretty little when I had lived there. The last place I have lived (and am still living as I write this thing) is North Carolina. I first lived in Colby, Kansas and Aurora, Colorado back when I was really little. Really little as in my head did not even come up to my chest currently. My parents had split at the time, my Mother lived with her dad (my grandparent) and my Father…

When I walked in the doors of our house, I looked to the left where our couch was and saw my parents sitting facing towards me with nervous faces. I set my bag on the ground next to the door, and I set my shoes next to my bag. I slowly turned around and walked towards the couch, hesitant to take a step forward. Part of me considered bolting--running for the door. Their faces were plastered with anxiety, and I tried to think of what I had done. Nothing clear came to mind. Once I finally sat down, I looked at my parents and said, “What's wrong?”…

“What?!?” I blurted out promptly after my parents delivered the news. They just informed my siblings and I that we were going to be moving. Not just to somewhere nearby, either; to a different city or a neighboring state. We were going to be moving from our house in Virginia, all the way across the country, to Washington state. That is when I realized that my whole life that I had known was going to be gone. Life as I knew it was going to inevitably end.…

In the world of modern technology, filled with the internet, it is very easy for a person to manipulate their true character. These days it seems far too difficult to meet someone who truly expresses who they are in person. After moving to Yorba Linda in the seventh grade, I experienced this problem. School was about to start soon and after just moving in the area I didn't have anyone to talk to, I was lonely. I didn’t know what to do. And even worse, I was extremely shy. As the first day of school rolled around I decided to just stay calm and just listen to my teachers, but deep down I was nervous. The first few days went by fine, I didn’t talk to anyone or eat lunch with anyone but I didn’t have any problems. Of course, however, I knew I…
