Personal Narrative: My College Path
Michelle, your college path is similar to mine. I started out at my local community college and earned my associates and then I went off to MSU. After a year there I learned that I really didn't like my major so I took a year off and moved back home. To pay the bills I started substitute teaching and instantly fell in love with it. The next year I enrolled at GVSU and earned by bachelors in education. I had planned on getting a teaching job and going straight for my masters. Unfortunately, when I graduated most of the schools were handing out pink slips so I took a job in another industry. Within 2 years I was making what I would as a teacher with 30 years in so I never did make the move back into teaching. Over the next 10 years I got married
