Personal Narrative: My Experience At Temple University

I was lucky enough to attend an extremely privileged private prep high school on the main line, and coming to Temple University was definitely a culture shock for me. It is not so much the urban environment, as it is the diverse student body that I am exposed to every day in my classes. Temple has given me the opportunity to take classes like Kids in Crisis that serve to shed light on difficult topics like racism, discrimination, and privilege that I was never exposed to at my high school, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
While I know that I may have lacked in verbally participating in this class throughout the semester, I feel that this class has given me the courage to actively incorporate everything we have learned this semester
