I too have a similar experience in undergrad as Bea has mentioned. However, this was when working with football during two-a-days as opposed to soccer. Before and after each practice, all athletes were required to weigh in, the information was then documented into a binder by one of my fellow athletic training students. If I remember correctly, if an athlete had a 10% drop in weight he was required to drink “x” amount of fluids before the next practice or they could not participate. With the help of the strength and conditioning staff, these precautions were taken to ensure the safety of the athlete/s prior to participation in an extremely hot and humid environment.
