I searched for the best rap songs and the rap songs that were at the top of the charts for that month. I began listening to some of the songs that had high ratings. I listened to songs such as “Versace”, and “Worst Behaviour” by Drake, and “Berzerk” by Eminem. After listening to a few songs, I began to like how they sounded. The songs I listened to were upbeat and they had a strong rhythm. I was satisfied with rap music because after listening to a couple of rap songs, I felt energetic and content. They also conveyed powerful messages. As the days went by, I listened and got myself familiar with more and more rap songs. I started having an appreciation towards rap and I began to understand what it stands for. I genuinely enjoyed the music and the way it sounded. I was starting to become a fan of rap. The more songs I listened to, the more I realized how relatable the music actually was. Some of the songs were very deep in meaning and some were just pleasant to listen to. I appreciated what some of the songs stood for. For example, some songs would raise awareness for racism and discrimination and the things that happen around the world. These songs helped me learn to appreciate different forms of art. During my exposure to rap, I discovered more songs by Drake and grew very fond of him. I related to many of his songs and loved his style of music. His songs, along with songs of other rappers made me more aware of the things that happen around the world and it made me a more empathetic person. These songs have also helped to make me feel less alone because I know there are others that relate to these songs. Before I listened to my first rap song, I used to think rappers were just saying words that did not make sense. I thought they were just saying them because they rhymed and sounded good together, but after taking an interest in rap, I learned that rap songs have deep messages buried within the lyrics. I learned that rap songs are very meaningful and relatable and they changed the way I perceive them and the
