Did you know that in 2008, 135,813 children were adopted in the United States of America? When I was sixteen my adoption changed my life. It was one of the most exhilarating and terrifying days of my life because I didn’t know what to expect. My adoption was emotional for me and all my family it impacted not only my life but many of the people around me lives as well. Everyday changes our life in some way shape or form however, some days have more of a lasting impact than others. My adoption was also part of an award ceremony for one of the judges. My adoption was an extremely positively impacting moment that was filled with joy and love from everyone around.…
I was born Chane’l Dominique Leverette on Friday September 4, 1992 in Pontiac, MI at 6:03 in the morning. My parents are Angela Evangelista, a Caucasian female, and Gregory Leverette, an African American male. I guess that I was already predicted to be a difficult baby since my mom was in labor with me for seventy-two hours! I came out so precious and loving weighing seven pounds and four ounces and nineteen inches long.…
6A. I started with once upon a time in a very far away land there lived papa bear, mama bear and baby bear. For the song, I started out with five green sparkled frogs. Five green sparkled frogs sat on a speckled log, eating some most delicious bugs. YUM YUM! (rubbing their tummy.)…
I was born at 11:55 am on a Saturday in the Kern Medical Center on February 7, 2003. My mom and grandma were arguing about what my name was gonna be. My grandma said Mercedes (gosh what a horrible name), but my mom said, Breanna. They agreed but my grandma said Mercedes had to be in there somewhere, but my mom thought that was an ugly name ( which I agree with). I don’t know the rest after that but then that’s how I became Breanna Sadie Reyes. 6 months later I said my first word and it was Poppa. My mom wasn’t sure if I was trying to say Grandpa or Papas (potatoes), I guess will never know. Thursday, February 7, 2004, was my first birthday and I was obsessed with Winnie the Pooh, so obsessed that I took a picture of Winnie the Pooh holding a 1 in his hand and I was so happy.…
Dad woke me up to have breakfast and to get ready to open presents. We had the normal breakfast, and got ready for the day. I got five presents including my stocking. Mom got a glass butterfly wind chime, a magnet with a red panda, and a polar bear. And a key chain with her name on it that I got at the KC zoo gift shop. Dad got a mug, a pair of Bluetooth ear buds and a firefly edition of monopoly we stayed at home for a few hours then we went to grandma Judy’s house I got two pairs of jeans, a tablet stand, and $70…
Baby Si is our soft, beautiful Docker, which is also known as a half cocker spaniel and half dashaund dog. She is by far the prettiest, most adorable dog I've ever laid my eyes on. When she's running through the grass on a bright sunny the sun is glistening off her shiney coat. She wears a long, wavy, shiny black coat, for the most part. Her paws are midsized, golden brown with little black and white toes nails. They smell so good, like a little puppy paw. She has a pretty long tail, about eight inches long. Her tail is wavy and fluffy. She has a fine strip of bright white fur going down her chest continued all the way down to her soft light pink belly. She has black ears that are too big for her tiny head. On her tiny head she has big brown…
April 7th, 1999 is when I was born on Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. I only lived there for two weeks after I was born. While we were in South Dakota my parents had bought my cat Sadie. She is actually still alive to this day! My mom had told me that the night I was born the doctor had an emergency Cholecystectomy and came to check on us the next day wearing a gown and pushing his own IV poll. After living in South Dakota for a couple of weeks, we then moved to Indiana. We only lived there for a year and then moved to Missouri. I do not remember anything about living at those two places because I was only about a year and a half old. We only stayed in Missouri for a month then we moved to Illinois where my parents family lived, and also because my grandma was diagnosed with breast…
Suppose that you come across a newborn baby laying behind a dumpster. What would you do? Look the other way or decide to raise that baby as your own. Raising a newborn till they become an adult, takes a tremendous amount of hard work. It requires loving, caring, pleasing the baby forever as well as being able to clean the house, work for money, and lots of others. Once you get the hang of it becomes easier. Therefore, by being heroic throughout harsh-durations you attain the impression of comfort.…
Growing up, I was unalike from other kids, I was "imaginative". During class, I would always by myself, writing bizarre stories with preposterous characters and with an unpredictable plot, while the other kids were playing with their friends. Many of my classmates would be entertained by loony stories, while other kids thought that I was just some lonely nitwit writing absurd stories to make up for not having any friends. In that year I was relocated to a different school, which I didn't want to go because I didn't have any friends at the school, I was currently attending and it would be much more difficult to make new friends. In the following year, I was still that shy girl in the back of the classroom not interacting with anybody, but it…
I belong to the classification of people know as educators. I am a teacher and unfortunately, I am not a mother. Yet. Just recently my younger sister of 28 years, just gave birth to her third child. The most beautiful seven point fifty-two pound little baby girl. With hair brown like melted chocolate and eyes the color of honey, dressed up in a pink mommy’s little girl onesie. I see her kids every day and I see other parent’s kids every day too, but why don’t I have any of my own. I thought about that as I sat there rocking little Evelyn in my arms and it suddenly occurred to me that I, too, would like to be a mother. Not just an educator or an aunt, but a mother with a baby of her own. Why do I want a Baby?…
Thump, Thump, Thump went the heart of our six-week old baby. The feeling was indescribable.…
Adorable, chubby-cheeked Hailey Nicole was a newborn photographer's dream. I was ill on the day of the shoot, and thankfully, Hailey's parents were understanding and allowed me to reschedule. I want to thank them for that.…
I was 16 years old before I accidently found out I was adopted. While looking for a copy of my birth certificate, I found adoption papers that I had no idea existed. My mother had been previously married and divorced, and while she was my real birth mother, the man I knew my whole life as my father was in reality my mother’s second husband who had adopted me. The interesting reaction is that I blamed my mother for the perceived deception and went immediately to my “adoptive” Dad for comfort and reassurance. I had always been closer to my dad and stayed closer to him rather than mom until his death.…
By 5 AM, I began feeling more tightening of my abdomen, in addition to period like cramps that would come and go. Curiously, I decided to start timing them, but noticed they weren't consistent. For this reason, I decided not to tell Chris I was possibly going into labor after he woke up for work at 6AM; trying to avoid him becoming disappointed if I truly wasn't going into labor. Obviously, I wasn't fully…
Life after being born seemed prefect. I was born in New York moved around spent time in my home town in Mexico. Until my parents decided to come back to the U.S and start a new life were my family was located. Omaha Nebraska, this was where my life would take place and the place in which it has seen me become the person I am today and will see to person I want to become in my near future. But life hasn’t been all that like of a fairy tale. When I was 10 years old my mom thyroid disease worsened. Doctors told her that she had a 5 percent possibility of her thyroid disease evolved into cancer. My family stayed optimistic that it was just her hyperthyroidism condition acting up. The results came in a week later and I remember coming from school…
