Three months later….
It was what could’ve been the last game of our season. The other team was on our 1 yard line and it was 4th and goal. We were down by 7 points. Fourth …show more content…
quarter, 12 seconds left. I was matched up with their best receiver. He was 6 foot 4 inches and 202 lbs! He ran a corner route and I anticipated it. I jumped the route and picked it off. I ran as fast as I could that play. The in depth stats said I ran 19.7 mph. I ran 105 yards and scored. There was a play we were working on in practice where I would go on offense and play wide receiver. I would run a corner fade route and go up for the jump ball. I had a 45.5 inch vertical jump. The code for the play was mango. “Mango!” yelled coach Harbaugh. It was like slow motion. I jumped as high as I possibly could put my hands up and snatched the ball out of the air. The next step was getting my feet in bounds. I tip-toed and got in bounds. My feet were about ½ a centimeter from the sideline. There was no time remaining, GAME. I was so smart and good at football that I got a scholarship offer from The Ohio State.
They wanted me to play football for them. It was such an honor for me to go to school there. There was one problem, I couldn’t afford it. So, they said I could pay after going. After four years at Ohio State University I declared for the NFL draft. I got drafted 32nd overall by the reigning Super Bowl champs The Philadelphia Eagles. I was making millions of dollars while playing the game that I love. I first paid off my college tuition fee, then bought my mom a house, then buying my own house. Later on I got me and my mom cars. After I retired I got a quote painted on my wall that reads “If you quit ONCE it becomes a habit. Never quit!!!” Michael
Jordan.
