Personal Narrative: My Five Dominant Themes
My five dominant themes were deliberative, context, strategic, responsibility, and analytical. I wasn’t surprised by any of these strengths, especially they seemed to describe myself quite well. I feel like these strengths are quite consistent with myself, especially the deliberative and context themes. The deliberative theme is most like me because I am a serious person who is very careful and proceeds with caution when doing things. This theme also mentions how life is not a popularity contest, which is something I most certainly agree with, because I do not necessarily care if someone likes me or not. The context themes looks at the past in order to progress into the future. I use past events as reference of what I should do, and when I don’t have a past reference I am very careful in whatever I do next, because I don’t know what will follow. …show more content…
The strategic theme discussed how I look at different scenarios and question “what if?” situations, when making decisions. I do this on a daily basis, which may be a bad thing because sometime I look at many different outcomes to the point where I feel overloaded and I worry about these alternate scenarios. This theme is quite helpful when making decisions, especially when I use an objective view. Responsibility is my other theme, which I am very much alike, because I stick to what I will say I will do, and I will follow thorough and commit to anything I take on. The results also mention how I am obsessed with doing things right, which is probably why I am a perfectionist most of the time. My last dominant theme is analytical, which is about being objective and challenging other people’s ideas. Sometimes this theme can lead me to seem harsh, which I think I get a lot. In reality, I try not to seem harsh, but I think it is important to challenge ideas and be objective, especially if I have to make

According to the Clifton StrengthsQuest assessment my top five themes are: Responsibility, Achiever, Learner, Focus, and Connectedness (Gallup, 2017). I’ve always been able to identify with the Learner theme. The Learner theme describes the energy and excitement in growing from inability to proficiency, as the most exciting thing about starting a project. Sometimes, when learning is the objective, it barely matters the actual venture or end goal, it is about the development. I’ve often used the idiom; “A jack of all trades, a master of none”, to define my deep desire to absorb all types of skills and material.…

Walking into the locker room about to get ready to go to our last football game of the season. I could smell the sweaty equipment from the kids who never take their pads home. The Hempfield Spartans 7th grade team would be ending their season 0-7 if we didn’t win today. As I was changing into my pads my friend mike walked in the room. I said “you ready for tonight”. “Heck yeah” replied Mike.…

After completing the StregthsQuest survey, I learned that my five greatest strengths are Harmony, Competition, Achiever, Includer, and Communication. Some of these strengths I had previously recognized as a strength, but a few were a surprise to me. Growing up, I was always a competitive person. I enjoyed the thrill of winning, whether it be in a team effort or individual effort. Also, I have always wanted to achieve great things in both my personal and professional life. I believe that I have always been great at communicating with others and love to include others in everything that I do to achieve a goal. The biggest strength of mine that surprised me most was Harmony. However, after reading about each strength, I know how I have utilized…

My two core values are Family and Faith. My top priorities in life are God and my family. It wasn't hard for me to choose my top two core values because I know that with God and my family I am able to achieve the other things. My family were the first people to provide me with love, happiness, friendship, and wisdom. They have been here for me every step of the way and as I am getting older, everything I strive to be and to do is ultimately to help them and make them proud. Faith is very important to me and that is something that my family has taught and instilled in me. Everything I do is for the approval of God. I have learned that hat God has for me is for me. Therefore, I am able to achieve success, peace, status, and wealth if that is…

There were a few themes that were not in my top five I expected to see before the assessment, starting with Empathy. As a leader, I have prided myself on being a confidant, someone my team could come during a difficult time. I know from past issues on my team that I am always able to see both sides of a conflict and put myself in others shoes. The second theme I didn’t necessarily expect to see, but wanted…

Before I selected serial killer as my theme, I was fascinated on human’s potential strength. The ability to go beyond the limit of one's body and evolve our capability. Compare to animals, our body sets a limit on what we could do and cannot do. Even though I was fascinated, it never worked out after the first attempt. I felt that theme was more like a one time thing than a theme where I would contribute more in depth artwork.…

My universal theme, which could be one of the most important, is commitment. Commitment is your devotion to something. If you are committed to something, then you will not stop doing that certain thing until it is accomplished. Commitment is obligation, it is passion, but it is also voluntary. Not everyone chooses to always be committed, but at some point in someone’s life, they are committed to something.…

Traveling into the Indian Territory, we were being angrily chased down by three Indians furiously shouting at us. Dashing through the thick forest, the savage Indians were throwing spears and shooting arrows that narrowly missed us. Although neither Gideon nor I was mortally injured, I did suffer from a nick from an arrow piercing near my ear. Thankfully, a group of burly fur traders approached from the side, which frightened the Indians to run away. Acknowledging that Gideon and I were inexperienced travelers in the west, they offered us protection in exchange for some valuable possessions. As a consequence, knowing that they were our best alternative for survival, we gave them our antique gold pocket watches and assumed the identities of novice fur traders. From that point on, we followed them through the west and adopted their skills for efficiently hunting animals and keeping warm in the harsh, cold weather. During one of our rest points, we approached a large Cherokee settlement located in Park Hill in which our group leader was friends with the Cherokee leader John Ross.…
