Personal Narrative: My Genocide
It was May 20, 2007 and it was sunny outside and my parents told me that we were going to have a picnic in Ed Levin Park with my cousins the other day and I felt happy that I would get to play with them and dressed up. I wore a white shirt with a logo on it with shorts and a grey jacket with my mom and dad wearing similar things to what I was wearing but my dad was wearing jeans. My dad was tall and had brown eyes and hair like my mom but she was short. It took about 10 minutes to get there because it was near the mountains and when we were driving I saw things like trees, a booth, and a lot of bees. My Aunt had paid for our parking and we parked and I met with everyone of them. When we got to a spot where we sat down was about to run off …show more content…
After that we went to the park where I saw this seesaw like thing with tires on it. When my cousins and I started to play on it I noticed that I was heavier than Nicholas so when I jumped he almost flew off the tire. But when I did it with my older cousin Shean it stayed balanced until my cousin jumped on it and I almost fell of. So I tried to get revenge and jump to so when I tried I hit my head on the bar on top off the tire and got hurt and went to the next place in the playground. The next place I went to was this thing with ropes that you’re supposed to climb. It was the afternoon and I could feel the sun burning my skin so we played with this water pump that we saw near benches and my cousin Nicholas and I played with the water pump and got in trouble because we got our legs …show more content…
I chased him back but couldn’t catch him I kept trying and trying until I stepped in a hole and hurt my foot. But I still kept running until I stepped on something. I didn’t know what it was and why my cousins were running away but my cousins knew and they were running away. This when I felt pain across my body and saw a swarm of bees surrounding me stinging me in a lot of places including my arms, legs, stomach, back, and etc.. They grabbed my little cousin Neil and took him away from the bees while my mom and dad ran to me trying to kill the bees. After this they brought me to the doctor where they they injected me with this thing to stop the allergies and them and my dad had to take out all the stingers one by one. It was painful, but the next day I started to be more careful and fell down less until I barely fell down at all and it helped me a

Throughout my life, I have faced a number of crucibles but one, in particular, is more prominent than the rest. About five years ago, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, a traumatic experience that affected my entire family. Each member of my immediate family chose to deal with the news in different ways, however, I am the only one that elected to live in denial. Sadly, the only way I knew how to cope with such devastating news was to continue living my life as if nothing was happening. Denial is simply unsustainable as you cannot escape the memories that the crucible has formed. Nevertheless, years after my mom was originally diagnosed I began to appreciate the experience for what it was rather than shy away from it; developing hardiness.…

My mother, sister, and I were driving down Highway 124 on a hot July day when my mom screamed and slammed on the breaks. Fear rushed through our bodies. Outside the car window, a short young African American man was launched into the air. As he came down, a loud boom sounded as his body helplessly rolled off the hood of the faint green Toyota Corolla in front of us. The man lay motionless in the road while we waited for what seemed like hours for the driver to exit the car. His red shirt and gym shorts were ripped. The driver of the opposing car threw the vehicle in reverse in a spasmodic action in an attempt to end the man’s life. The injured man made an effort to crawl onto the Wendy’s sidewalk, forcing his body up on the curb to evade the car. The driver drove up onto the curb and blew its tire, just barely missing the wounded man. Realizing the driver would stop at nothing, my mother drove her white suburban in front of the car, blocking the violent perpetrator from doing any further damage.…

My family and I hear banging and yelling at our door as we know who are visitors are, the Nazi’s. We are violently being pushed around as the soldiers yell into our ears making me feel almost deaf. I’m pushed away from my family as I see their faces of fear. I can see children crying and begging to soldiers for their parents as parents yelled and screamed back. We are taken to the camps that will be our new home for now. I finally get to meet up with my mother again as she puts her hands on my face. I hug my mother as we then are taken to get our new looks. My mother and I are taken to get our new clothing. Then they shove us to get our hair shaved off. A buzzer turns on and soon we are shaved. It’s so hard for me to look at my mother cry…

Time is winding down and the past thirty nine weeks has been nothing short but amazing. It has been full of different emotions and feelings. From the stretching of the skin to the sudden movement I have never felt before. It was all a new experience, but the feeling was indescribable. After a restless night, the sunrise appeared before I knew it. The pain was unbearable, but after several hours and a couple of good pushes you were here. I was extremely exhausted, but the relief was absolutely amazing. At first sight I fell in love with you. Not for how you look, just for who you are. I never thought I could feel affection like this. What is this? Is this how it's assume to feel or even resemble? It's kind of insane how you, only one individual,…

I was running as fast as I could. I didn't know where to, all I knew was that I couldn't stop. Pushing myself to run faster, I sprinted down the nearly deserted street. I could hear the smashing of glass and gunshots behind me, only matched by screams of terror, as they invaded Szczebrzeszyn like a tidal wave. Drowning any Jews that were too slow to escape. I cried out as my knees buckled, causing me to collapse to the ground. Too weak to stand, I dragged myself towards a nearby car and crawled underneath it. Trying not to make a sound, I lay there tear spilling silently down my face. My breath, like a dragon's fire, clouded the surrounding air. There was no escape. I listened to the smashing and shouting increase in volume, and held my breath…

I used to gag at the thought of running eight hundred meters. There I stood with my heart racing, ready to run five kilometers. To everyone else, this was an unimportant meet that even the coach said he did not care about. It was for me, however, more terrifying than losing my mom in the grocery store when I was a child. My first meet and all I could think of was my speed or lack thereof. I did not have distance spikes. I did not have a muscle roller. All I had was my heart in my throat paired with running shoes. Since the day before, my blood pressure had been rising and continued to do so.…

I remember the first time I saw Gene. I had just arrived in South Carolina after moving from New Jersey when my dad was offered a promotion. It was a rainy day, I spent most of it driving, trying to figure out my way around town. For lunch, I stopped at some sort of pub that’s been closed down for years now. When I walked in, it was completely empty except for one boy sitting at the counter all alone. I sat on a barstool, a few down from the boy and ordered a cheeseburger. Trying to remember which road I took to get there, I realized I had no idea how to get back home and the boy spoke.…

The dark of night lay subdued upon me like a stifling blanket, hindering my escape. Running beneath the twinkling of stars, I checked my pocket for the security of my blade. I grasped the handle with a sense of dependence for the cold rigid grip. After running for some time, I found myself near a soldier in a wheat field. Without hesitation, I delivered the soldier to death, beginning my mission. Observing his eyes rolling into his head, his jaw relaxing, his chest resting upon the dirt, and the smell of fresh blood—ha!—I knew I would never turn back. After I had committed my first murder, I became heavily devoted to killing with a bitter taste of sweetness for my homicide tallies. After I had killed my first soldier, I knew to depart far from the scene.…

-January 2009- It was a Saturday, Kenneth and I were riding our bikes by H.D. Perry Middle School, my original middle school. We decided to stay at a park near by while listening to music on my iPod. We were both on bikes, but decided to sit on a bench. As we were listening to music these two kids came to talk to us. They looked a little suspicious so I looked around them to check on the bikes and saw two other kids taking our bikes. As I pushed the two kids in front of me aside Kenneth and I started to run to the other two kids. I ran as fast as I could and for the first time I ran faster than Kenneth. But as I ran to the kids they got on the bikes and just…

Growing up, I noticed a lot of discussion about financial problems between my parents. It’s not that we were becoming poor, it was because of our growing family needing more supplies. As a little girl, I do not know how our finances worked all I knew was many bills were due and I knew it because when I was a little girl I liked to practice reading and those bill statements were the papers that attracted my interest due to its colorful paper.…

It was summer time and I was wearing my West Scranton football shorts and shirt, it was a normal day in the summer I was sitting in my living room with the air conditioner turned all the way down to 60 to get a cool breeze. I was watching Iron man but I really was not that into I kept drifting off and thinking what I should do with my day. My older brothers Shawn and Anthony came to the door around 2 in the afternoon and asked me if I wanted to go swimming. I quickly galloped up the stairs and asked my mother if I could go, she said yeah just be safe. So we left and went to a place called the “Rez” it was a place where high school and college kids go to jump off rocks and have a good time, it was a nice area surrounded by…

In a small town of Indiana, it's hard to keep yourself occupied without thinking outside the box. Well for fun during the summers, we used to go cliff jumping at a local dam call Missinawa. Although it was illegal because it is extremely unsafe, my friends and I would always make it a habit a couple times a week. Generally, we always take turns jumping or give each other room so nobody is colliding. Well one time, a friend went with us that doesn't always make the brightest decisions, that should have been an indicator right there. He thought it hilarious to land near me shortly after I jumped, but instead of landing near me he landed directly on top of me! I was unconscious in the water and my bathing suit top found its way of my body also. I remember waking up with blurry vision and shaking very badly not knowing where I was for a few minutes. I also had blood coming out of my mouth and nose, and my hands and feet were a purplish tint! My friends very quickly rushed me to the emergency room where I had to stay overnight. I later found out I had multiple concussions and a possible blood clot. The boy who landed on me came by the hospital a few times while I was there, and bought me flowers and a balloon to “make up” for his stupid mistake. My aunt actually kicked him out the first time but not before making a huge scene and having the security called. Although…

It was a nice day out this one summer afternoon, so my parents invited my family over for a barbeque at our house. I come from a big Mexican family, so it was a good thing we had a really big backyard. I am the youngest grandchild out of eighteen, the oldest was forty-one and I the youngest was seven at the time. The closest cousin to me in age at the time was eleven and I always tired to hangout with my older cousins. On this summer afternoon my cousins and I decided to build an obstacle course thought out my house to see who could run it the fastest. We made it start from my front yard and it weaved through the living room, my sister’s room, my parent’s room, then out the back door where it ended. My parents are the…
