Just after he went inside I spotted a box shaking around the yard where my grandpa parks his car.My grandpa was driving down the road. When he was speeding down into the drive-way,I sent the basketball zooming into the box the box before it got hit by the car.
I ran over to the box to grab it, and gazed inside to see that there were three kittens inside.I gave one to my brother and sister. They were so happy that they got a kitten.I felt really favoriable that I rescued them before they were ran over.

On today, while out seeing my client Marshall, his grandmother became upset because after having a discussion about who should be the overseer of Marshall’s disability check. I stated to her that if she really wants to care for Marshall, it shouldn’t matter whose overseer of his check. I had to drive at high speeds to get away from her because she was chasing me in her car. I later called Marshall to check on him, he admitted that he felt as though…

Having the luxury of great health and family, it can be difficult for me to see outside the realm of comfortability and see the daily hardships people experience. There are so many people without housing, stability, and monetary resources, and these people often find themselves wondering where they can find help and figure out what to do next during trying times. One place people can reach out for assistance is Ronald McDonald House Charities. The nonprofit provides housing and food for families with a critically ill child in the hospital. The forty-two room house aims to provide comfort and support for families living through their worst nightmare. The charity provides this support by its network of staff and volunteers who prepare food for…

As a Chinese-American, my family expected me to help out at the restaurant while maintaining straight A's in school. But, it wasn't easy; every day, I would report to the restaurant after school and immediately start working. Inside the kitchen, I would pack all the orders into aluminum containers, place them into a brown bag, and insert packets of sauces and utensils. Burns and cuts were common due to the terrible and tearable aluminum containers. Outside at the front desk, I would answer the seemingly endless ringing phones. In many instances, customers had to wait either on the phone or at the front desk for me to find their orders on the computer, even after they showed me where it was on the menu. During lunch hours, the pressure was even…

Growing up in my great grandma’s generation was completely different than growing up in my generation. Back in the day there were not supercenter grocery stores like Wal-Mart, Shop n Save or Sam’s Club for you to go buy your meals. Everything you ate was made from scratch. Why do you think grandmas always the best cooks? Going to grocery stores and restaurants is typically easier and cheaper but cooking homemade meals with your great grandma is priceless.…

“If you want a kitten, you have to give away your tarantula,” said dad. It was a bright and sunny afternoon, and our family went on a walk through the neighborhood. I made an expression on my face of disbelief. That thought repeated in my mind, all I have to do is give away my tarantula to someone else. It has to be someone responsible.…

Everyone loses someone or something they love at some point in their life. I rummaged through my grandpa’s rundown garage and became sad. All I could remember was the raspy sound of his laugh when we talked. He smoked, not a pack a day, but he had been doing it for so long that it hurt him. I continued to sort out the antiques and garbage for my dad, so he could decide what and what not to keep. I found a poster in the garage. He had two posters in his garage that he would always look at because it became boring just sitting there. They were both wrecked but the one I kept was in better shape. He would always joke with me about the girls on the poster and said to never have a girlfriend because girls are too much work. Then my cousin…

The morning sun hits me through the windows and I force my eyes open only to see my beloved beside me. His pale face contains a pair of smiling eyes and saliva that’s coming out of the tip of his lips. I couldn't resist but to place a gentle kiss on him while removing the sticky water off of him. Soon I slowly pull myself up in a sitting position next to him. Trying not to wake him up, I turn my head to the panda holding the clock that is showing 7:38 in the morning. I massage my sore arms as I move quietly out of the room. The bright sun lightens the living room as I close the room door behind me. What a great start in the morning with the warm sun shining. I quickly washed my hands in the kitchen sink, which is right next to the living room. Then I…

In the early morning hours of my twenty-second birthday, I awoke abruptly to my father’s voice commanding, ’Get up, quick! Fire is coming over the hills!’ Half dressed, moving through a powerless house, I stepped into the front yard. Like a picture captured into my memory, I witnessed the intensely bright ember glow of fire coming up and over the ridge lines, lighting up the sky and surroundings in a think orange haze. A flurry of sounds consumed my ears, exploding propane tanks, snapping tree trunks, and the desperate honking of neighbors trying to evacuate. Dad was spraying down the roof with a garden hose while I got hold of my cat and emergency grab bag; I was prepared to face the worst.…

My Kitchen leads out to the back porch, where Mr. Kitty's food is. Right beside the door, which has a large window, is the dryer. He hits it dead on and flies back. Dazed, he sits up and looks around for a few seconds. Then he gets up on the dryer, looks at the door and off he goes. SMACK!! He does it again.…

One day after watching the early morning cartoons, I decided to set out for an adventurous day with my friends, Manny and his two younger cousins. As we were walking down to the park, one of Manny’s cousins spotted three extremely large boxes lying on the curb in front of a house. Unfortunately, this was before my school years so I was unable to read the words on the boxes, but they were definitely large enough to fit my dad in a few times.…

Every time when it was a rainy day, my grandpa would be one hand holding my little hand, and the other hand holding a purple umbrella in case we both got wet. He liked to take me to a grocery store which was a block away in the corner from where we lived. “Let’s get some candies, shall we?” my grandpa would say this to me when it was raining outside. ”Why not?” I would reply in a happy mood every single time. And we would go to the grocery store together and got some delicious snacks. I felt really satisfied whenever grandpa took me to that store in the corner.…
