Personal Narrative-My Hero's Journey
Well my hero’s journey starts off in the summer where I made my switch to LVCP, LVCP is a school in livermore california. The reason I made my switch to LVCP was due to my parents wanting me to have a better life in Livermore rather than in a Hayward school, where I would get distracted and not do my work. On Friday, August 21th, the day of Orientation, my journey began. I was enthusiastic and skittish at the time but also a little sad because i knew my summer had come to an end. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach move around as we getting closer and closer to my future high school. Finally, I had reached my destination LVCP. The first thing that popped out when I stepped foot on campus was seeing the painting in the front of the …show more content…
Feeling happy because it was my first day of high school, sad because I had no friends especially since I lived in San Lorenzo and knew nothing about Livermore or just mad because it was school. In addition to having mixed emotions I did not have any friends, thus making it worse for me.
One of my biggest challenges was making friends and the climate in LVCP. The reason it was hard for me making friends, was because I lived in San lorenzo and I went to school all the way in Livermore and knew nothing about this city. Another reason why coming to LVCP was a challenge because the climate was terrible well for me. I never thought that Livermore can go up to 100+ degrees fahrenheit and I was never used to climates with such scorching feelin. The climate in livermore one time got me sick for how hot it got. One of my biggest challenges was making friends, But yes there was something that helped me overcome that was my soccer ball by bringing it to school. The reason a soccer ball is important, being something so simple, but to my eyes is a huge part of my friendships. I was no longer shy, it helped me overcome it. I went from not making friends to me showing off my skills by doing what I love to do and that is to play

Western and nonwestern heroes come from different regions of the world; therefore, have different cultural backgrounds. More specifically, western heroes come from the Greco-Roman or Judeo-Christian traditions. Nonwestern heroes come from other parts of the world that would not associate with these traditions. One of these challenges would be using my time wisely at times during school. With being in a fall sport this makes it very tough with homework. After school I have practice that gets over around 5 or 5:30. Then I get home and eat dinner and it is already 6:45 or 7. Then I have to complete all of my homework and I stay up fairly late. I have persevered through this by just finishing my homework and by not giving up on the homework. Also, I have tried very hard lately to get homework done during school, so I don't have to do it when I get home. This has been my greatest challenge, while being at Plymouth High…

I had five classes: Ms. Tynes-Math, Mrs. Shows- Science, Mrs. Graham- Social Studies, Mrs. Seal- Reading, and Mrs. Allen-Writing. The problem with my new school was that I had heard so many bad things about it. People told my parents that I should not go there. I had no problem with going there. It was a predominantly African-American school. A week before I was meant to start, there was a mishap while my dad was trying to trim my hair causing him to have to shave my head. The opening day of school, I started off with very short hair and I was the new white kid at the school. I thought it was gonna be super hard to make new friends. I was honestly super scared to try to make friends. I found out very quickly that it was not as hard as it seemed. All I had to do was make a concerted effort. I stayed with those people all day, and quickly became friends with everyone I came in contact with. It helped shape the social aspect that I have today in the fact that I can talk to anyone. Meeting different people can help build character just like how bricks help build a…

My first day on the hill was overwhelming! To begin with I was awakened at six in the morning to a day full of packing, loading up my best friend’s SUV, and a very long drive to Normal, Al. I then realized that I was actually leaving off for college! I do not know why but, I had a serious case of the butterflies. There was no way that I was nervous about anything; I was just soo anxious of what was to come that I seemed like a kindergartner on their first day of school. When I drove up to my dorm, I was swarmed by at least three hundred girls whom I was to share this building with. Getting away from my parents was the best feeling ever. My parents will not be here to tell me ar when to sleep, when to eat, when to come home, and where I should be. Those are the main reasons why I love my new college life.…
