As I stepped out from inside the school into the biting cold air, I looked around for my teammates. I saw the team gathering beside the field and moved to join them. Anyone who saw me coming would have known it was me from a mile away, for I was easily recognizable. I had curly blond hair that flowed down over my eyes. In addition, despite being quite skinny, I towered over most of my teammates. I reached the mill of people on the pitch and spoke to a few of my teammates about the game ahead.

It only took a few phases for us to get the ball back past the 22. Once we had the ball inside the 22, we relentlessly attacked the try line, but Shawinigan’s defense was solid. It was looking like we weren’t going to be able to score a try, but then all of a sudden we caught a lucky break as one of the Shawnigan players slipped in the mud, allowing one of our players to run over the line and touch the ball down for a try.
