I decided to attend Grand Valley State University because it was the nearest university to my home. I did not want to move out during my college years so I am currently still in Grand Rapids with my
family. I am majoring in psychology with a minor in criminal justice. I might not ever get in the criminal justice field however, I really do love criminal justice and always seem to do great in every class I have had.
My goal career wise is to finish my bachelors in April 2019. I would love to start off as a benefits case manager for MDHS and work my way up within the State Of Michigan. I have a feeling that this career would be good for me because I am a caring and helpful person. I feel like everyone in the world at one part of their life will need assistance to get back on their feet. With this job, I would like to help people with state assistance and get them back on track so they will not have to dependent on anyone or anything.
My professional life at the moment is a “phone banker” at Lake Michigan Credit Union. I have been with the company for 1 year and 2 months. I started off as a teller and worked my way up to the corporate building. I always was a hard worker when it came to money. I have always been the type to have 2-3 jobs and go to school, however this year I wanted to slow down and actually enjoy this year as a junior.
On my free time, I love to watch movies and reality shows. My favorite shows consist of Real Housewives of Atlanta and Law & Order SVU. I would consider myself as a plain person. My room is my happy place… sort of like introvert. I have always had a positive outlook on life and tried my best to keep that outlook. I am looking forward to this course, and possible meeting new people this year.
