With the last game of the season upon us, the coach decided to let me start my first Varsity game. Coach planned to have me throw two innings, but he left me in for six. The season ended in a great way for me.
My sophomore year things had changed. Change is never easy for me in any situation, and baseball, unfortunately, followed suit. We had a new coach that accompanied new ideas, and he had me play in new positions. My confidence decided to play hide and seek for the year, which affected my pitching performance. Because I spent the year bouncing between JV and Varsity, neither one felt like home.
Thankfully, by my junior year I became more comfortable with my coach, and I felt a little stronger than the year before. Our field got renovated, and we had to adjust to playing on turf. Fortunately, this change impacted my game in a positive way. I could now trust the defense behind me more because there shouldn’t be any bad hops. My Junior year turned into a fun season filled with great plays, good memories, and celebration for winning our
