We had about eight different coaches, basically four coaches from both schools. Our head coach name was Emmanuel Powell, he was a big but not fat bald head black guy. Honestly, he was the funniest of them all. He always gave us a laugh even when he was mad at us, it never fail. All of our coaches was real cool, they were like fathers but like brothers at the same time. They made sure we was doing good in the classes and even in life. They kept kids out of trouble, some coaches use to let the players sleep over if they had family problems. We built a good bond with the coaches. Even the community, they always had a hand out to help someone. Landry Walker not only gave us a education, they touch us about life and how to be better men. The teachers, coaches and other staff members was always about helping kids get into college after high school. They helped kids receive scholarships, academic and sports scholarships. Even if a student did not go to college right after high school they still help them find something productive to do besides sit at home or be in the streets. To this day alumni’s from about 3 years come back to the school and try to get help with college or just help with family
