Personal Narrative: My Observation Of Astronomy
- The first astronomical object I observed was two very bright, small, and circular dots which I later learned were a popular binary star named Algeria. At first, I could barely see the stars but after focusing my eye in the telescope I noticed that one star was a light blue shade and the other star was a vibrant yellow color. Additionally, the yellow star was significantly brighter, more visible, and larger than the tiny, dull blue star. When I typically look up in the sky, I notice how most stars have a similar shape and size with the same white color and vibrancy as they twinkle against the background of the night sky. As a result, I was surprised by the distinct colors of the stars which might have been because I have never observed a star through a telescope before.

When I was able to look through the telescope, I immediately observed the basic outline of the plant on a much smaller scale which I have seen through textbook drawings before. Furthermore, the planet was white in color which I believe was because the telescope couldn’t display color. In relation to brightness, the planet wasn’t particular vibrant but I could very much notice the circle in the middle surrounded by a ring. One of the most fascinating feature I noticed through the telescope lens beside Saturn was two additional white, twinkling dots on each side of Saturn which were identical in all ways. Subsequently, I learned those two dots represented the stars, Rhea and

The future is a scary, but also exciting, thing to think about. I feel lucky to have been given the opportunity to take this course where exploring our education and our future was the whole point. I feel as though I learned a lot during the duration of this course, but I haven’t really had the opportunity to put it into practice yet which is why I am glad this paper was assigned. It gives me the opportunity to really explore my future in ways I haven’t done so yet. In order to really see how this course has affected me, I must first look back at old assignments to see how I have changed since the beginning of this course and during the duration of this course.…

There are two instances in my life that has inspired me to gain interest in medicine. My grandmother when I was around the age of twelve received double bypass surgery and I fell in love with the physician who took care of her. The physician was a middle aged woman who was one of the kindest person I have ever met, and she gave us the news of how everything went fine during surgery. She also gave us great confidence in how my grandmother would return to normal soon. The look on my parents and aunts face when she gave the news gave me goosebumps and to this day I feel the same goosebumps when I think about this. I just wanted to one day be in a position to deliver good news to a family and to see that “look” of relief on their faces. Another…

My feelings were overwhelming while I was watching Rouge-1, and climaxed in the last minute. I have been a space oddesy fan since I was a toddler and man first walked on the moon. I first watched Star Wars when I was about 1 0-years old. Only a few years earlier, I watched 2001, a space Odyssey. I thought Star Wars was, much better, not because of the action, but because of the force. All my life I wanted to be 'at one with the force' and have the power to heal, block bullets, and cheat death. In my opinion, I have pretty much achieved that.…

Another term to describe how this event plays as a horror movie in my mind is referring to it as the “Twilight Zone”. Before I encountered this “force “or what I have referred to as a “religion” I was always involved in my community, kept close relationships with prior friends and always served in the church. In addition public places were normal I always interacted with employees at local stores and many people in public places. The main thing I received from friends, family and church is fellowship and truth. Besides truth there was also a certain amount of trust you expect from friends and especially family and the church. Many times when you face those outside of your family friends and the church you may be refused the truth and trust.…

The Pleiades star cluster or “the Seven Sisters” is among the nearest star clusters to Earth and the most discernible to the naked eye. Visible from nearly every location on the planet, Pleiades can be seen from the north pole to the southernmost tip of South America. Historically, the Pleiades were seen as a group of seven stars, Alcyone, Atlas, Electra, Maia, Merope, Taygeta and Pleione. With modern technology, we now know that the Pleiades cluster is actually comprised of several hundred stars. The Pleiades is also one of the nearest examples of a reflection nebula.…

I am interested in the discovery program because travelling has always been very dear to me as it allows me to be in unfamiliar situations and approach situations differently. It also alows to to expand my general understanding and reasoning where i can more accurately formed opinions on domestic and international events because I have a bigger piece of the story then just what the media portrays. for example when I was in the sixth grade my family travelled to Egypt and at first I was scared of all the guards patrolling the citie because i have never seen them being portraied as friendly, however I quickly learned how much they cared for the safety of the citzens and were always up for a quick chat. While in Egypt,we also consumed much more…

The day I became intrigued with Anatomy was the day that my mom told me that when I around 6, I was diagnosed with kawasaki disease, A rare disease that affects fewer than 20,000 people a year. After staying in the hospital for two weeks, I started reading book after book about how the human body defends against disease and infection and the many systems that make up the body such as, The Nervous, Muscular, and Skeletal systems. But, it wasn’t until high school that my passion for Anatomy began to broaden. RephraseDue to the fact that my teacher had me examine different kinds of connective tissue under a microscope such as, bone, cartilage, and adipose tissue. I remember the day when the aliens arrived. It was a rosey, shining morning as I raised from my bed, frowning as fatigue’s claws were still wrapped around me. I could feel the bed beckoning to me, calling me back into its warm, cozy embrace. I ignored it, kicked my pillow out of the door’s way, and dredged into the hallway. I stumble to the kitchen and smell the heavenly fragrance of coffee. In the kitchen, my Mother and Stepfather were busy, getting ready to head to work as usual in their bland brown and black clothing. My two younger sisters, Emily and Hailey, were wearing their usual outfits, argueing about some topic I have long forgotten. I acquired a cup of coffee and a plate with some toast for myself and headed to the porch. There, I…

When I was eight years old, I peered through a telescope for the first time in my life. It was a small device, no more than two metres long, and yet it let me glimpse a brilliant view of Jupiter: it was the size of a marble, magnificently striated in hues of brown, red and orange. Then, when I was 13, I went to the Birla Planetarium in Hyderabad, where I revisited my five-year old fascination with Jupiter as I sat spellbound in the arena as a cosmic dance played out in the canvas stretched above my head: stars flew around, tumbling in and out of the horizon, the rings of Saturn floating serenely in space, moons rising and setting through a mélange of blues, yellows and greens.…

We started dating in January of 1998 after our co-workers set us up on a date. Since then after work we would go out to one of the many bars in Tumon with our co-workers and party the night away.
