To begin, make sure you have all of the necessary ingredients: one pound of pecans, one teaspoon of cinnamon, a food processor, one 16oz thawed package of Phyllo dough, one can of aerosol butter spray, wet paper towels, a sharp knife, a 9x13 casserole dish, a medium size saucepan, one cup of water, one cup of white sugar, half a cup of honey, a teaspoon of vanilla, and a package of cupcake liners. Secondary, clean off the counters in the kitchen so there will be a sanitary and clutter free area to work on. Preheat the oven to 350* with the oven rack placed in the middle.…
The experimenter used a pan covered in foil and (sprayed with oil) to put in an oven at (350 degrees F). They used all the required ingredients for the recipe, a mixing bowl, and a large fork to mix. A ruler was used to measure how tall the cookie was. The experimenter chose a (cookie mix), Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix by Betty Crocker™, from the local grocery store, specifically eggless-(control). They followed the directions/recipe exactly as said on the package and resulted in perfect cookie dough in a kitchen with counter top area for work space.…
D. Pull out a few cupcake trays, and spray them generously with cooking spray to ensure that the brownies do not stick to the pan. Cupcake trays are ideal for this dessert because they create the perfect single serving.…
The Cheesecake Factory, I once believed that the establishment would be a bakery that primarily sold cheesecakes, sweets and such. Although, I’ve never heard much about the restaurant, or what it actually was other than people are familiar with the establishment and only comment on the cheesecakes. Yet, I had not known that that was the place I was dining in, I only believed under presumption of its name that we were going to eat at some other random place when I walked through the doors of the restaurant. Now the reason I say random was the fact that this place was not like how I imagined the praiseworthy Cheesecake Factory to be at all. My expectations of this place was exactly how Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory felt and as colorful as Tim Burton’s remake of Alice in Wonderland was.…
I remember anxiously waiting for 9:00 o’clock so we could go explore the store. The grocery store could be kind of spooky during the night but this didn’t bother us too much because we would be busy playing tag or hide and seek throughout the store. The grocery store has seven aisles. Aisles 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are nothing special but aisle 6 is divided into in half by a variety of items as well as a candy box ( I don’t know what else to call it).…
| After you have all the ingredients, you have to pre-heat the oven on 350°F or 175°C, so you can have the oven warm to put the brownies in, and grease the mold.…
As a Chinese-American, my family expected me to help out at the restaurant while maintaining straight A's in school. But, it wasn't easy; every day, I would report to the restaurant after school and immediately start working. Inside the kitchen, I would pack all the orders into aluminum containers, place them into a brown bag, and insert packets of sauces and utensils. Burns and cuts were common due to the terrible and tearable aluminum containers. Outside at the front desk, I would answer the seemingly endless ringing phones. In many instances, customers had to wait either on the phone or at the front desk for me to find their orders on the computer, even after they showed me where it was on the menu. During lunch hours, the pressure was even…
The first step that you must do is preheat the oven to three-hundred seventy five degrees, depending on how your oven bakes you may need to vary the temperature so that you do not under cook or over cook your cookies. Burnt cookies are the worst, and if you do happen to burn them, you'll have to make a whole other batch! What a waste of ingredients. While the oven is preheating you can start mixing your batter. What you will need is:…
For starters, let me tell you the exact, hardcore, and intense procedure of how I was made. I started off as just some boring cookie dough inside a bowl. Then, I was put into an oven, and after about 20 minutes, I popped out as a nice, warm, round cookie! After that, a human spread some nice yellow frosting on the topside of my body. The human then proceeded to use some kind of utensil to draw slick, black sunglasses on me. And Sha-Pow, here I am!…
The first house my father built was constructed room by room and took more than 25 years to be built, a continuous work in progress. The original house was built in the standard square format without standard electricity and started with just four rooms: living room, dining room, kitchen and bedroom. The bathroom was located about 70 feet away in a little draw or valley from the house, which during the winter could be cold as the wind blew snow in during the most inopportune moments. New square rooms were attached to old square rooms as the house expanded outward to accommodate our growing family.…
Have you ever imagined of a room that sent such a good vibe that you thought it was too good to be true? Well, that is how this lunchroom was. When I walked in the first thing I say was the bright lit faces of the john Adams middle school students.Their faces were so astonishing that it but a big smile on my face. The poster filled walls were a bright baby blue with a hint of green. The tables were stunning. The colors were so remarkable that they were almost blinding. The pillars that stood high were covered with flyers of all colors. But the best thing of all was the smell coming from the cafeteria. It smelled like fresh pizza out of the oven. But what they were serving was much better than pizza, it was cheesy bread sticks. As my waiter…

How baking powder works: Baking powder is a double-acting agent which means it reacts to liquid and heat and happens in two stages (can also stand for a few minutes unlike single-acting agents). The first reaction takes place when you add baking powder to the batter and it is dampened with water or milk. One of the acid salts responds to the baking soda and forms carbon dioxide. The second and last reaction takes place when the mixture is placed in the oven. The gas cells expand causing the batter to enlarge. The two stages help by making the batter able to stand for about 15-20 minutes without its leavening power being lost.…
My insider/outsider partner was Alicia Garcia. As you can tell by her last name she is Hispanic. I don’t have many Hispanic friends and I am not use to their culture. Starting on the project Alicia told me a little a bit about her heritage. One of the things I asked her was, “Do you celebrate the day of the dead?” I know that might seem like a crazy question to ask, but I the only thing that I truly knew about her culture is what I seen on TV. Alicia said that they do celebrate it to some extent. They don’t actually go to a grave site and light candles for their fallen relatives, but instead have a feast in honor of them. Alicia is the first generation American Hispanic.…
