When I graduated from Whittier Education Campus at thirteen, it was a major day in my family. Since, my parents hadn't finished high school, hence they were excited to witness another daughter start high school and the road to higher education. My promotion of higher education showed how willing I am to pursue a college education, demonstrating maturity and responsibility. First, my family set high standards once I entered high school. They wanted me to become a poised, proud, and well-rounded student to be able to explore my options and make something great of myself. Additionally, I had responsibilities at home such as taking care of my little sister when my mom and dad were working, keeping the house clean, cooking lunch or dinner, and

Throughout my academia, I have been a member of several clubs and organizations, but have yet to attend a free leadership and service conference. The National Society of Collegiate Scholars needs a free in-person event that hosts a multitude of workshops from becoming a better member, to becoming a better leader and more. This event should be a two-day weekend long including update meetings on how the organization is accomplishing its endeavors and goals in terms of membership count, influence in the community, and upcoming events. During a workshop, we could bring in experts to discuss how to become a better writer to increase our chances of earning NSCS scholarships and other scholarships. In another workshop, our members and club leaders…

Kathy, it appears you have gained valuable knowledge and learning experiences during your practicum internship thus far. Your review of goals and objectives are attributes that will facilitate further development of your leadership skills, how exciting! The insight that you provided through the nurse/physician communication and collaboration seminar was valuable knowledge for me to reflect upon in my leadership development. The remaining goals and objectives that you have outlined in order to meet the course concepts and finalization of practicum experience will provide additional attributes and skills to foster your journey in attaining leadership growth. The simulation lab sounds exciting and appears to have attained a positive collaboration with the right stakeholders to facilitate the evidence-based practice concepts needed to provide favorable educational guidance that is conducive to the organization’s educational goals.…

I am an 18 year old finishing up her freshman year of college. As well as playing on a collegiate soccer team. I am living on campus experiencing living on my own away from family and getting the ”opportunity” in making life decisions with little help from my parents. As a typical collegiate athlete student, I am overwhelmed with homework, sports, and trying to fit in a “life” here. As well as running on little sleep because of school catching up with me. Grace University has caused many stressful moments throughout this year, but that comes with any typical college. Classes, practices, games, SLT’s, and chapels so far have been the only part of my life and my structure at Grace. I am not generally from here, but because my dad’s side of the…

When first posed the questions of how do I fit in at a college and how my extracurricular activities and experiences would benefit the college, I was not sure where to begin writing. To be perfectly honest, I think I would be a good fit on almost any campus because I believe I am adaptable to my surroundings and have a solid foundation that would make me an asset anywhere in the nation. While the previous sentence may come across to readers as egocentric or egotistic, I’m puzzled at where to begin because I also don’t think I’m outstanding anywhere compared to my fellow students academically speaking. On the other hand, it is almost a forgone conclusion in my mind that I have experienced more in my years than the majority of my peers. Also, as a result of many of these experiences, I’ve been able to get a jump start in my field of choice compared to where anyone else in the nation going into my career would likely be. Overall, I would say I have…

It was the morning of move in day. I said goodbye to my home and headed out. I passed the local shopping market and my high school where I enjoyed a fun four years.
