One rainy day two girls named Lisa and Erin were driving to Colorado because they rented a cabin for the weekend. When they got to Colorado they stopped at the gas station for so gas. Lisa asked the cashier if they were going in the right direction to the cabin? The cashier said that they were going the right way but would take a will to get there. They spent three hours driving and then they see a sign that says Summer Lake Forest on it. Erin checked her phone to see if they where in the right spot and it said they were.…

I live in DeMotte with my Mom and Step-Dad. My real father lives in Ohio. I only get to see my actual dad three times a year. I see him in fall, spring, and summer. Obviously, I saw him this summer, and this time I was staying with him for a week. This was the first time I stayed this long at his house before. Although he lives in Ohio, and is only two hours away from Sandusky, he’d never experienced Cedar Point either. We didn’t explore the roller-coaster portion of Cedar Point, we went to the smaller segment called Cedar Pointe Shores. That’s just the highlight of the trip, though.…
A great vacation for me would be a road trip across canada with my three other family members, my sister, mom and dad. my dad would mostlikley drive us to each of the provinses.…
My mother, “Regina Hopkins,” has been a positive influence in my life. She has raised 6 kids all by herself as well as earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a City College in Gainesville, Florida. My mother has been through pretty much everything a person can go through outside of war and was still able to be there and provide for all 6 of her kids. In high school, my mother wanted to play football and couldn't because she was a girl and back-in-the-day women were not allowed to play football with the guys. However, she remained strong by raising 6 kids and independently took care of all of us on her own. My mother has several qualities that I would love to develop. The first quality she has is balance; she certainly knows how to make…
"I don't know what to do. I have a husband and my family here, but the Nazis are taking power. I don't know if I can stay here any longer. I have heard about good things happening in America, so maybe I will go there," I explained to my family before I decided to leave my home country of Austria.…

It was the middle of the school year, and I had just moved into Duluth. I was begging my mother to put me back into public school. At the time I was being home-schooled but I hated it. So one day, my mom told me "since you want to go to public school so bad, I'll let you go soon." I was happy! I could finally make some new friends and go somewhere I wanted to go. Few days later, we went into the school I will be attending called Northview High School. We went to go get interviewed, but the lady that interviewed us was very rude. She was not hopeful or even encouraging. She told me and my mom that I was going to fail all my courses and will have to wait til the end of the school year. Basically, she wanted to hold me back. Who would have known how right she was. In the end, it worked out and I was able to attend Northview.…
The American dream. Many before me have come to the this nation in search of success and fortune for them/ their families. Some leave by their own accord, while others are forcibly removed from their homeland due to war, poverty, disease, etc. No matter what the circumstances however, we, the immigrants, migrate to this country with the belief that hard work will be the road paved in gold leading to riches. Leaving my family in Rapallo to search for the uncertain shall be my triumph in this life or my downfall to adversity.…
As a nearly 18 year old student, the best part of my days are when I have nothing scheduled. No work, no homework, no commitments. For that reason, I believe in a day off. Three years ago I walked through the doors of Mead High School like most incoming freshman, nervous, excited, and way too full of confidence. Everything had seemed to fall into place while I was in middle school. I became pretty used to the routine of school, friends, and football. Time had never really been an issue for me. After homework and sports, a night with friends or in front of the TV was a usual. I truly didn't expect a whole lot to change the day I walked through those doors, but boy was I wrong.…
To begin with, I was over my grandma's house on a warm and cozy summer night. When out of the blue my mom asks Me if I would rather go to school online or regular high school she stated that if I chose to go to school online I'll be going to a school named Penn foster. Because it would let me work at my own pace, it didn't cost too much, plus they would help me if I didn't quite understand one of my courses. My first thought was wow why the heck not! and blurted out yep I wanna go to school…
The week that I had been dreading the whole summer was finally here. My dad was making me go on a week long mission trip with my youth group at my church to North Carolina. I didn’t have a problem with going to church, but I did not want to go on this trip. First of all, I only knew a few people from my youth group and definitely didn’t feel very comfortable around them. It was also tough to give up a week of my summer for this. Not only that, but this trip made me feel disconnected to everyone back home for an entire week. Because of all of these things, you could say I was a little uneasy heading into this week. Little did I know this trip would be a life changing moment for me. Now four years later, I’m dreading the fact this will be my last work camp I can attend. Because my dad was able to push me out of my comfort zone, I became closer in my faith, I grew as a person, became more involved in my youth group, and found a great group of friends.…
When I was seven years old, I went on a field trip to the Jim Cherry Memorial planetarium in Atlanta, Georgia. The theme that day was travelling thru space, they enhanced the experience by making the sets moving. It was astonishing, how something so far away seems so contiguous. At that moment, I knew that I had to learn more. I went home that same day and ask my mom what all she knew about space, but she did not know very much. The following day, I started doing my research when I was capable of doing so. I remember wishing for some to tell me more. Since then, I always wonder what goes on in space while I am down here.…
