Personal Narrative: My Trip To Mississippi State University

The second I stepped onto Mississippi State University’s campus, I knew it was the place for me. The quality education, the warm-hearted people, and the fun-filled town that surrounds Mississippi State drew me in. Nerves overcame me at first about it being an out-of-state school, but they graciously accepted me with non-resident and freshmen academic excellence scholarships, making my desired school within my grasp. Throughout my visits to this campus, I have been made to feel right at home. My first time stepping onto Mississippi State’s campus was initiated with warm welcomes and encouraging words about what the next four years would have to hold for me, such as past accomplishments of the university, traditions held by the football team,
They have pulled me into their world, and have left me with no desire to leave. My experience with Camp Winnataska has left me with an urge to teach, as well. Being a leader there for the past two summers to come has shown me the joy that kids bring and how doing for others ultimately does more for yourself than you could imagine. Being able to influence them and spread to them the joy I have in my life has made an impact on my character, like no other. The Bulk Office Supply scholarship will give me the opportunity to prepare myself with the educational level needed to pursue my career of choice and to be able to reach out to the lives of the youth. Although general scholarships have already been applied to me, they only reduce the out-of-state amount. The in-state-tuition remains for me to pay off. Mississippi State holds a number of extra activities that I plan to be apart of. These include, but are not limited to, the student association, greek panhellenic, and the baptist student union. My parents have placed the responsibility of a handful of college finances in my hands and have left it up to me to find the means to pay them
