Personal Narrative: My Wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner
During Thanksgiving, there are so many amazing sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and feelings. There is mounds of delicious food and friends and family. The table is set and all of the delectable food is on it. I can hear people talking and arguing about if apple or samsung is better. When I eat, I can feel the mashed potatoes on my tongue and taste the sweet pumpkin pie in my mouth. I can smell the salty green beans and the fragrance of the turkey cooking in the oven. We all feel very hungry and thankful that we have the opportunity to have a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Overall, these are the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and feelings I experience during my Thanksgiving dinner.

I remember anxiously waiting for 9:00 o’clock so we could go explore the store. The grocery store could be kind of spooky during the night but this didn’t bother us too much because we would be busy playing tag or hide and seek throughout the store. The grocery store has seven aisles. Aisles 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are nothing special but aisle 6 is divided into in half by a variety of items as well as a candy box ( I don’t know what else to call it).…

My Thanksgiving break was pretty good. On Thanksgiving, I went to Indiana to my cousins' house. It was a two-hour drive, so it wasn't that long. All of my cousins are older than me- literally, all of my cousins even from I don't know where. The only people younger than me are my siblings so I'm not the youngest of ALL the people. Anyways, we had eaten all of the thanksgiving things you can possibly eat. I loved thanksgiving this year and I can't wait next year.…

In Defense of Food was quite shocking at first. In all honesty, it made me think I was going to die within the next week due to a heart attack triggered by all the junk I eat. Considering I myself indulge in processed cookies from the aisles of Stop and Shop, and steak tips that have been marinating in salt for two days, the film hit close to home. But in all honesty, I don’t eat that bad; in comparison to the Seventh-Day Adventists I do, but I think I’m doing alright.…

Personally, I’m going to have to say no. The painting does a very horrendous job at depicting the relationship between the Wampanoag Indians and the Pilgrims during the First Thanksgiving. The painting is very simplistic. In other words, it fails to recognize the crucial details of what actually led up to the First Thanksgiving, and what occurred afterward as a result of the Peace treaty between the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians. There’s a lot more to the story of Thanksgiving. The painting only focuses on a very small piece of the whole ordeal and fails to capture the big picture of it all.…

The Gallagher holiday season is full of fun and exciting traditions. Right after Halloween the weather starts to become cooler in the city that never sleeps. It's finally the enchanting pumpkin-flavored month November. So they pull out their cozy blankets and clothes, and get the hot cocoa ready. When its the middle of brilliantly brisked month there is out door ice skating available, that's probably the teens favorite tradition. Skating in the frosty moonlit Las Vegas night was the best…

It was a perfectly normal Saturday night, until I sat on the couch. I expected to enjoy a funny movie with my dad, but instead I got a trip to the hospital. I sat on the couch, and then I felt a sting in my elbow. At first, it felt like I got a shot at the doctor, but it slowly got worse, and felt more like a knife slicing into my elbow. I winced and sprung up from the couch. I squinted and my eyes scanned the spot where I just sat down. Aha, I thought. There was a small piece of plastic, and it looked like it broke off from a container.…

Once my mom brought me home from the hospital she called me a turkey baby because I was born on Thanksgiving. She always said she had a lot to be thankful for that day. My dad wasn't there when I was born but my grandma was. My grandpa was riding in the desert when he got the call from my grandma saying my mom went into labor. She kept him updated the whole time. My grandma was so excited when I was born that she called my grandpa to tell him. First thing he asked was “Does she have all her fingers and toes?”; my grandma was just so excited she forgot to check. She hangs up on him counts my fingers and toes then calls him back and tells him yes I do. In my early years I was a goofy little thing, according to the stories I've been told. My absolute…

Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite times of the year, besides Christmas. I love spending time with family and friends while enjoying the delicious Thanksgiving meal. My aunt’s husband is a culinary chef, so with that being said, our meals are always homecooked and taste heavenly. My entire family gathers on Thanksgiving Day at my aunt’s house where we spend the entire day eating, catching up with one another, and enjoying each other’s presence. Most importantly, we all get to see my cousins who range from three to ten years old and are all boys. We are also all anxiously awaiting my cousin’s arrival in February. With this, I am the only girl in the family when it comes to cousins. Growing up I was always told that family is the most important…

In addition to centering around the ritual of food, the embrace of family, and the richness of history, Thanksgiving has always served for me as a time of contemplation and gratitude. It’s good to take stock from time to time, not to ignore problems or challenges but rather to remember and think about the good. Sometimes we get so caught up in the daily grind of life that we focus more on what we…
