My main goal is to go to college. I am looking at a degree in forestry. My next goal is to find a job in the career field of my choice. To do this I need to make sure that when I am in college, I am putting forth my best effort in my classes and networking with people in the field. These goals have to be reached for me to do well out in the real world. High school may seem like it doesn’t matter, but it does because in the end without high school, I wouldn’t be able to go on to college and then on to a job that I love to do and work. To make my family proud I want to graduate and go onto college, get my degree, and finally make a living in my career field choice.…
The time period in which “Much Ado About Nothing” was written directly pertains to its plot, thoughts, and mannerisms of the audience that they play was written for. The play was written in 1598 and produces two plots one being an unconventional love plot involving a strong woman named Beatrice who does not conform or choose to conform to the societal expectations put upon her in a traditional way. “Much Ado About Nothing” highlights the negative female stereotypes, magnifies the connotations that men should overpower and control woman, and that women are evil “cuckholds”, whom no one should trust. Beatrice’s character portrays these negative expectations of gender, deceptions of the opposite gender, and gender prejudices using her love story with Sir Benedick and with the addition of her witty nature, and…
To tell my story, I have to set the scene. It was the summer of 2014, the Thursday before school started actually. I had not seen familiar faces in a while so, I was ready to get back. I did not realize it yet, but taking a job at Whataburger would be the biggest (only) mistake I ever made.…
Working at the Hooters of the Orland International Airport has been the best decision of my life to be a Hooters Girl! To begin with, when I moved to Orlando from southwest Florida I met one of good friends who worked at Hooters and she would always tell me stories and how much fun she had, all while making a living. So that day I went and applied, and I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere Hooters provided and on the first day I was welcome with open arms. Next, working at Hooters I have met the most amazing coworkers and regulars that have made a difference in my life. Walking into Hooters my coworkers have a positive, fun and outgoing personality throughout their shifts, and which I have made longtime friendship along the way. It such…
At the start of spring semester my freshman year I had an outstanding balance with my home institution. This balance caused me a lot of stress and the time that I should’ve spending study was instead being spent on worrying on thoughts of how I might not be able to return in the fall. Fortunately with the money I earned through my internship that summer I was able to bring my remaining balance down low enough for me to enroll for classes. However in order to not put myself in that position I took on numerous jobs on campus, spreading myself too thin and not leaving enough space for my studies. After talking with my professors and getting their advice I was able to manage being both a full time student and working the hours of a full time employee.…
Have you ever met someone who has the "perfect job" - like the animal lover who's a great veterinarian or the science whiz who's a lab technician? What about the people who are good at what they do - but hate getting up every morning to go do it?…
The important pursuit of financial success is an idea that has been drilled into my head by the adults in my life from early on; my parents struggled in life, and for me they wanted a better, easier, future for me. What I took away from this was that I would not be successful and happy without the money and credentials as well. I could not understand why so many of my classmates wanted to be writers and artists; didn't they too want to be successful? However, the summer before my senior year, I had an idea that would change my thought process forever: a visit to the gateway of success, the Naval Academy.…
This week reminded me how amazing and important my job is. Friday was a busy day at the office; I was rushing to finish my work so I could leave on time. As I was about to leave I received a phone call from a hiring manager (Mark) with NOAA. Mark had questions about the interview process and was calling to speak to one of my colleagues. Unfortunately, my colleague was on vacation and wouldn’t be back for another week. I looked at the clock and realized it was time to go but I could hear the frustration in Mark’s voice. Instead of leaving, I spent almost an hour listening to Mark’s concerns, answering his questions, and I explained how the federal hiring process works. At the end of our conversation, Mark thanked me for my time and he told me…
Throughout the years, billions of individuals have inhabited the Earth, each with their own lives and their own particular choices. With every choice made, these individuals have started to compose their legacy, which is the exemplification of who they are and what they have accomplished. I, like the majority of the rest of the world, am starting to leave a legacy as well, and plan to continue and enhance it along the shining stone path known as my life.…
I knew what I had done as soon the first gunshots rang out. I knew that part of this was my fault, but strangely, I was okay with it. I was okay with whatever would play out that fateful day.…
I feel that although these attempts at reaching out to you have been futile, I want you to know how I feel without any expectation that you respond.…

Something I would like to change this year is turning things late. Last year I turned everything late and although I got the same credit or slightly less I would still like to turn things in when they are due. I would also want to stay on track with math. Math is what I struggle most with and last semester I got a high D almost a C, if I would’ve gotten maybe 2 questions correct on any test it would’ve bumped me up to a C- . I also want to do my homework and turn it in. Last semester what effected me the most was homework and I want to improve on that also. Maybe just maybe i’ll try to be nicer to my teachers but don’t get too happy Mrs. Bayne I don’t know if I could do that but I guess I will try. Some teachers just really get on my…
After moving to interview the United State, I went to my first job interview as a caregiver. At that time my English was not proficient, I was not accustom to the American culture, and I was heartbroken due to the fact that I had to leave my family, and friends back home. During the interview, the interviewer asked me several questions regarding the patients that I will be caring for. One the question that made a bad impact during the interview was “if you caring for a patient with Alzheimer. How would you care for them?” Due to the fact that my English was not proficient, I was unable to respond to her in the appropriate manner.…
Prior to having children, I was a cashier. I was happy as a cashier. Why? Because, I feel like no matter what job/position held a positive impact can be made. I always felt everyone from the trash man to bank owner to farmer to the President could have a positive impact and leave a positive and enduring legacy. As such, I felt like I could make a positive impact as a cashier. While a cashier, I trained others, I worked diligently and received numerous accolades and raises. Thru everything, I tried to maintain a positive attitude and outlook. I helped other department, I tried to be a positive sounding board for friends and co workers. I used integrity, thoughtfulness, and honesty though out my workday (also at home, and when out and about).…
