In my three day food journal i kept track of what i ate in those three days. Know i have to consider how my diet in those three days were measured up to the recommended guidelines of myplate and and the dietary guidelines for americans.…
The Cheesecake Factory, I once believed that the establishment would be a bakery that primarily sold cheesecakes, sweets and such. Although, I’ve never heard much about the restaurant, or what it actually was other than people are familiar with the establishment and only comment on the cheesecakes. Yet, I had not known that that was the place I was dining in, I only believed under presumption of its name that we were going to eat at some other random place when I walked through the doors of the restaurant. Now the reason I say random was the fact that this place was not like how I imagined the praiseworthy Cheesecake Factory to be at all. My expectations of this place was exactly how Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory felt and as colorful as Tim Burton’s remake of Alice in Wonderland was.…
I remember anxiously waiting for 9:00 o’clock so we could go explore the store. The grocery store could be kind of spooky during the night but this didn’t bother us too much because we would be busy playing tag or hide and seek throughout the store. The grocery store has seven aisles. Aisles 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are nothing special but aisle 6 is divided into in half by a variety of items as well as a candy box ( I don’t know what else to call it).…
Corn hole was the second thing I tried at Fall Fest. This game is not the most thrilling thing in the world. There were several people that were waiting to play because it was pretty much the only thing to do. I am not very good at it, which is weird because the only thing you have to do is toss a bean bag onto a wooden box that has a hole in it. I have never understood the corn hole rules so that didn’t help. The way to get points is by making it in the hole or if the bag stays on the board, but I don’t know how the scoring works. My bags always missed or bounced off the board anyways. I was going to play volleyball after corn hole, but there was no one else playing it so I just watched a bunch of other people play corn hole. Countless other…
My best Pecan Fest experience was last year. I rode the Zipper with Austen and Hayden for most of the time. My friends and I played all weekend and had fun. We bought lots of confetti eggs. They were very useful when we used them on other people. We also bought silly string and sprayed lots of people. We went on the Zipper at least 10 times. I went on the MI twice. I went on the Pharos Fury a couple times. I ran around the yard with my friends and we rode on lots of rides. I helped my mom with her booth and I got a lot of people to play the game. I also watched my little brother perform on stage. After that I ate some food and then went one the Zipper. I felt so sick after. I got some water and I went home. The next day we went back to the…
I got a pork chop that was excellently cooked with big flavors. They best part is it’s enough for two people to share and is only 7 dollars. The flavors of the pork chop all came together, therefore it was outstanding. The pork chop and the bun had beautiful grill marks. Yes, I just said they put the bun on the grill therefore it gave it a smoky flavor that brought everything together.…
To tell my story, I have to set the scene. It was the summer of 2014, the Thursday before school started actually. I had not seen familiar faces in a while so, I was ready to get back. I did not realize it yet, but taking a job at Whataburger would be the biggest (only) mistake I ever made.…
The first time I ate a Tootsie Roll is one that I haven’t forgotten. Though, I haven’t eaten one in a while, I still remember the way I like to eat them and what they taste like. My interactions with Tootsie Rolls have taught me to try something before I say I don’t like it. Here is how it happened.…
My ears ring as the old school bus screeches to a halt. We hop off and a dry, winter gust smacks my face. Instantly, my stuffy nose runs. I grasp the cold metal handle of the school door, open it, and slam a piece of wood underneath to keep it ajar. After we become accustomed to the cold shock, Mrs. Cimenski, our director, orders us to haul the heavy wooden tables and a set of four lockers toward our designated area backstage. We struggle through multiple doors and long curtains until we reach our destination. The first aid kit mends our minor cuts and bruises created in the process. Gathering our senses, we collect the makeup and costumes and begin a brisk walk to the classroom assigned to us. The first performance is in an hour and a half,…
In Defense of Food was quite shocking at first. In all honesty, it made me think I was going to die within the next week due to a heart attack triggered by all the junk I eat. Considering I myself indulge in processed cookies from the aisles of Stop and Shop, and steak tips that have been marinating in salt for two days, the film hit close to home. But in all honesty, I don’t eat that bad; in comparison to the Seventh-Day Adventists I do, but I think I’m doing alright.…
So, my trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento was very different from my other trips. Sure I once when on a road trip to Portland by land, but it was actually different. Our family basically had 3 days to go anywhere we wanted to, and we brought only a few supplies.…
My groupmates and I ordered Nilasing na Palaka, Adobong Uok (some of the exotics foods which is available for that day) and Sinigang na Baboy for our lunch. Uok is a kind of worm that is in coconut tree or simply coconut worm. It is my first try to eat exotics foods that’s why it is so challenging to eat. Nilasing na palaka is look-a-like fried chicken but if you taste it, its like a fried fish. And, the adobong uok is so weird meal. It’s so gross when I…
It’s not very often when you get to go somewhere really far away and have a ton of fun. But this was one of these times. But I never would've thought of the one thing I would have to do when we went to Disney World.…
What really amazed me is when they gave us a sample of the food. The photo at the right side is like a medicine tablet. Chef Ty asked us to put it under our tongue so the tablet can dissolve, right after that he told us to pinch the calamansi right through our mouth. It really amazed me because I thought that the calamansi will taste sour like its usual taste but I am wrong. It tasted so sweet like candy. Putting science into food is really interesting, it innovates and put an exciting taste in every dish. At the left side of the photo is the one with the mango yolk. I really thought that it was an egg yolk at first so I was a bit hesitant of tasting it but it turns out it was really yummy. It complements the watermelon and other sweets so well.…
The next day we went to the beach. We camped there and I saw so many Chinese in there. On the beaches, there were some water sports we can enjoy. We were so excited at some water sports and we enjoyed it by paying some fee. I still can't forget the feeling still now. A few hours later, we bought some meat for barbecue. My cousin Ella recommended some foods to us to try. The food I ate was rice noodle. It is different from the Chinese rice noodles. It was so delicious.…
