Personal Narrative On John Rwitz
I've been hiding from myself as if it hurts speaking my own name, John Rwitz. I can't really depict what's wrong with me, I can only say that my infirmity found its way to my thoughts creating voices into the black matter of my brain. I've found myself waking up delirious in the house, as I can only see a pitch of white across my sight. I knew if i stayed in my house I would infect the children and Debra.
I went to go see my doctor down the street where I lived. . Running through the side alleys to avoid the busy streets as they projected an ambience of noise and dizziness. I hurried to the doctors. At once I got there, seeing my doctor discussing something I could not hear. He saw me with my skin red and pale as I was gasping for air about

The ER waiting room smelled stale. Sick babies and toddlers were crying, waiting to see a doctor. My brother was laying on the tan tiled hospital floor. He was shaking terribly as the antibiotics from the previous hospital wore off and the infection set in more. Both of his hands were red and swollen. His right hand, had a black mark from where the IV initially infected. His left hand was swollen to the size of a small balloon, kind of like a blown up rubber glove I used to get from the doctor when I was younger. My mom took her jacket off to cover him. His skin was hot to the touch but he was still freezing. His fever was 101.2 but there were no open rooms in the ER at our second attempt at a hospital. We had to get him antibiotics…

I saw a young woman with her children waiting for hours in the heat. She nervously shuffled into the health care clinic. The physician handed me the stethoscope and told me to listen to her heart. I placed the stethoscope on her warm skin and heard a sound that made my heart plummet. It did not sound like a normal heart beat, and I had an overwhelming feeling that something was wrong.…

Throughout my entire life, I have found that hard work and dedication can help me achieve any goal that I set. I have overcome the separation and lack of decent parents, incarceration of my oldest brother, and many other events with the morals and skills that were taught to me by my grandparents (who are my legal guardians). Due to their influence and love, I have always put my best foot forward and looked at the world with optimism. Since the second grade, I have been in gifted/honor courses, exceeded through my classes, and have made many friends. My backbone does not consist of selfish desires or influences; it consists of my morals and the family and friends that I do have pushing me to change the world.…

I looked around and I wasn’t in my room anymore, I was in the hospital during my grandpa’s surgery. The waiting room was cold and sterile and the smell of antiseptic was so strong I could taste it. Waves of uneasiness washed over me as if they were trying to drown me. My grandma and my mother were sitting in the room with me and they looked just as scared. I remembered how long my grandpa was in surgery to get his windpipe removed, how I had thought that I wouldn’t make it through the hours he was and that if he didn’t then I wouldn’t make it for much longer afterward.…

On September 16, 2011, I attended a training session/lunch and learn for Valley Regional Imaging. They came to me job to show the new computer technology that we will soon have access to from our clinic. Instead of them faxing us results, we would be able to go on the computer and see our own results. The meeting was held in one of our board rooms. The room was dimly lit with a huge projection screen in the middle. The table was huge with big comfy leather chairs surrounding in. The board room was away from normal patient activity so it was very quiet. The room was actually very cold so I had to leave and get my jacket.…

I had a neck brace around my neck and IV’s stuck all in my arms. I started to panic, I was lost, confused and scared. My best friend was there in the ambulance trying to calm me down. But still, all I could think about was the reaction of my parents when they found out what happened. Once we got to the hospital, the paramedics took me to Emergency Care. The doctors ran many tests on me: MRI’s, CAT Scans, and X-Rays, whatever test you can name – they ran on me. As I waited for my results, the doctors came in and explained to me what happened. An intoxicated driver with a gun ran the red light and hit me in a head on collision. The driver not only totaled my mother’s car but also totaled his own car too. The good thing was that he was okay. I didn’t know what to be happier about; the fact that the other driver was fine or that the accident was not my fault. Selfish right? But I’m sure if you were me at the time, you would think the same thing.…

I was disappearing again. I could feel it. I could feel the sterile white walls slowly sucking all the colour out of my skin. I could tell that the iron bars covering my window were slathering at the curve of my body. They were tired of always having to stand up straight; they too were slowly taking a part of me. They were taking my outline. The fluorescent light was burning the colour from my hair and the whispers were carrying it away strand by strand.…
