Personal Narrative: Post-Secondary Institutions

I come from middle-class parents, of which neither attended a post-secondary institution. My sister and I are the first in our lineage to attend and complete a college degree. I grew up in Cali, Colombia where medical care and special treatment for health issues as well as higher education was not very accessible due to my family financial resources. Underrepresented individuals, as myself, feel there is not much support for positive community development, nor encouragement to individuals to seek and achieve opportunities that they felt were out of their
scope.
