Media, today, revolves around our daily lives and we all have trouble socializing, especially the people we choose to socialize with. I thought I made the right choice and knew who my friends the beginning of my high school career, but it was a mistake. As I took on more responsibilities and participated in a lot of extracurricular activities, people I had hung out with gave me negative commentary, doubting that I couldn’t take on things that I did. I had to make the choice to listen what they had to say into consideration or make the biggest choice and leave them to find new friends. I didn’t learn who my actual friends were until Senior year. Friends are supposed to motivate you and offer you positive influence, not hold you back, and that’s what they were doing to me. They weren’t academically on track, and that affected me because I like people who got things done instead of complaining and make excuses for themselves. I’m proud to make that decision to find new friends that do support me and honestly, the friends you make in high school or middle school won’t always be with you. Eventually, we all have to be independent and rely on ourselves, but also make sure to have a positive
