Me in a Nutshell
Lacrosse is my passion.
Ever since the first time I stepped on the field when I was in third grade lacrosse has been my life. I had been playing soccer since I was five, but my travel coach never put me in, and I came off the field crying countless times. My family agreed I shouldn’t play something with no passion, so I moved on. I signed up for the girls shark river third grade lacrosse team. Not only was the team incredibly inviting, but the coaches were so enthusiastic about new players. My first game they let me start, and now seven years later I have found my one true passion.
2. I am a slow reader.
Reading has always been the one subject that I struggled with. I could write and spell, but I always got put in the lowest reading level of my elementary class. I have come a long way from that now, but I still take a lot longer than my classmates to finish reading. My lexile was pretty good for my AT class last year which was a major accomplishment for me regarding academics. My goal for this year is to try and get my reading speed up. …show more content…
3.
I am an overachiever.
This year I might be getting in way to over my head. Me being the person I am decided to take honors english, geometry, biology, US world history, and spanish two. Now I thought that taking all honors would keep me busy enough, but at orientation some upperclassmen recruited me to play field hockey. All of this is in addition to my job as a senior ref where I spend two hours every night watching referees and critiquing their technique. Also I need to get fifty hours every year for honors society, so I am in the process of getting accepted to volunteer at the local
hospital.
4. I love animals.
Anyone who has ever meet me knows that I have a huge place in my heart for animals. If you walk by me with a dog I immediately swoop in to pet it. All of my friends know the first thing I do when I come over there house is go to see their pets. I personally have three animals living with me. A english-doodle named Surf who is the most gentle, lovable giant you will ever meet. Than there is Princeton (named after my dream college) a rescue who has too much energy for his own good. Finally my favorite, Coco a gorgeous siamese with big beautiful eyes that are always sparkling.
5. I love to travel.
My family has been traveling with me ever since I was one. We usually do an annual trip to Disney every year. There’s just something about all the joy found there that can make even a scrooge smile. In the more recents years we have tried a new vacation spot- St.John USVI. This was a totally different experience because you go from the hustle and bustle of a million people in Disney to a quiet island with very few people. We snorkel the day away in the warm crystal clear waters, and then relax on the white powdery beaches.
6. I love to cook and bake.
I am lucky enough to have my grandma, and grandpa live right next door to me. My grandma is one of the best cooks I know, and from a very young age I strived to follow in her footsteps. Every time I walked through her door I bolted to her kitchen to see what I could help with. My favorite things to make are sweets- cookies, cupcakes, caramels I love them all. The thing I like about cooking is you can use your creativity because it is like an art. But the best part is when you get to indulge in your creation.
