Personal Narrative: Stealing
I knew stealing was bad. I knew that if you stole you would get sent to this lonely and scary place where you don't get good food and you have to stay behind cold bars, where you have to use the bathroom in front of other strangers because you are not allowed to leave your area. I only heard stories about this horrifying place. My mom always told me stories and reasons why not to steal or commit any other sin. To be honest I thought this was a fable I had never seen this place and I know many people who have sinned but never got sent to this so-called “jail” place. My mother told me lying is bad and you could get sent to this “jail” place but, I have a friend who once lied to our teacher at school saying he forgot his homework at home when …show more content…
I had never felt this way before. I assumed it was from something I ate earlier. When my mom got done paying we had to go through those big long metal things that detect if you stole something. As I approached the metal detectors my legs began trembling slowly I walked through surprised that nothing happened I quickly exited the store. During the car ride home I was excited to put my foamy purple butterfly on my wall. As soon as I got home that feeling in my stomach returned. I ignored it and put up my butterfly. I gazed at is for a few seconds. I then went to my mother in complete shame of the foolish action that I had just done. I confessed my secret to her. I told her that I didn't want to go to jail and that I would go back to the store and return the butterfly with her. My mom was quiet for a few seconds. She then started yelling at me “Maham what were you thinking how could you steal. Yes I know a sticker isn't a big thing but still you have done something very bad and I hope you realize that you can get sent to jail for stealing. I am glad that you told me but you need to promise me that you will not do something like this ever again.” My eyes started to sparkle and in the quietest voice I said “I’m sorry mommy I didn't think it was a big deal but now I know it is I am so sorry I won't ever do it again.” Tears started to roll down my face and my mother hugged me and comforted me. This was the first and last time that I would steal. I have learned my lesson and understand that next time there could be bigger consequences. Even though I didn’t steal anything big it was still bad because it can affect my character. Also getting caught would be terrible it could ruin my life. I wouldn’t be considered trustworthy. I am glad that I have learned my lesson early on and not

The story started when one night I snuck out of my house to go to a party, as a result, that night I slept over at a friend’s house and found a ride home the next morning. When the car pulled into the driveway the morning after, I thanked the driver and walked up to my front porch with a sly smile to greet my obviously frustrated parents. As my mom ushered me to sit down on one of the chairs on our front porch, I know that nothing good is going to…

My greatest influences are my parents and my brother. My brother suffered from Guillain- Barre Syndrome when he was eight. He lived in the hospital on an artificial ventilation for 97 days and later he had to continue physical therapy for at least ten years as he was completely paralyzed. My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. I learned that with dedication, determination and diligence we can achieve our dream in life…

When she took the bait she had gotten caught because a few days later they said that she was using counterfeit bills to buy her things. So the cops brought her to the station to question her. She said that she hadn’t known they were counterfeit and said she had gotten the money from me. That's when the plan backfired. The brought me in for questioning and I said that I hadn’t know they were counterfeits and that I just found them in the grass one day. The questioning had ended there but not for my parents. They ground into my sister for taking the money from me and then started grinding into me to figure out where I had gotten the money. I told them that I got it from a friend so I could use it as a way to get Meradith, my sister, to stop stealing money from me and from them. They said it was stupid of me to do that because she could have been arrested and kept in prison for a long time and they didn't want that to happen I told them I had done it for the greater good and they just scoffed and scowled at me. From that moment forward I haven't talked to my family or anybody since then because I didn't want to be punished for trying to do the right thing. I haven't spoken to anybody about it, not even Mr. Meany. I’m glad…

I just moved to a kid infested neighborhood. I was 18 so I had no interest in going outside and playing with the 12-14 year old kids. I thought it would be okay moving there, but they're so annoying, doing there kid stuff and writing skate boards which I've done myself and probably annoyed many people so I didn't tell them anything. Anyway my mom lives with me because step dad recently died. This house had been so weird, I don't know if it's me or like I said, the house. There's always weird noises and the weirdest part is that there is this rug that always appears in different places when I get home. My mom doesn't say anything about it because she has bad memory loss and always loses things. Someone needed to do something about this house or rug because i'm starting to get scared and lose it.…

My mom never screamed at me before and when she screamed he blamed me for letting him go outside without his permission. One sunny day, we were remodeling the living room so it can be more babyproof now that my brother was taller and could walk and run perfectly. We left the door open because it was too cold in the living room. We were moving the couch as we told Andres to move over so we don’t locate the couch on his feet. We were so busy moving the furniture that we totally forgot the baby of the family was walking towards the door. When we put the couch in our desired spot, we noticed Andres walking toward the street. We ran after him as quickly as we could as we saw a car moving in Andres’s direction. My dad sprinted like a track and field athlete towards his baby and caught him right in time. All of a sudden, my mom turned to me and blamed me for this incident. I felt like my side of the story wasn’t considered when I explained she told me to help her with the couch and it was really Andres’s fault. She couldn’t believe I was blaming a baby so she sent me to my room. I ran to my room crying, feeling as if Andres was the favorite child and I wished that I never had a…

The thirteenth emoji going left to right, that has heart eyes and has its lips perked out is relateable to a part of the book where Jerome and Rory are kissing intensively. On page 200 it states "I started pressing my lips into his cheek - just a hint of a kiss,.....I felt his shoulders release, and he made a little noise that was partly a groan, partly a sigh. He kissed my neck up, up, up to my ear......My body flushed itself with all the good chemicals that it takes to reserve for making out. On page 201 it states " He told me scary Jack the Ripper facts, and I had the sudden need to make out with him until I ran out of breath. I would have continued indefinitely if........."…

“It could always be worse” my mother had reminded me. However, I could not hear her, for I was withering in pain on the sofa. Grabbing the blanket that was draped around me, as loudly as I could, I screamed into the throw. I had given up trying to fight the pain. Instead, I lied down onto my father’s lap. I surrendered. Placing my hand onto my cheek, I found it wet with tears. In an effort to lighten the mood, my brother announced that dinner was ready. Everyone left the room except for me. I stayed. Why? Food did not help the pain, nor did it worsen the pain, however I refused to eat. The pain had twisted my insides, so that thinking of food caused me to gag. I hardly ate anymore. It is so noticeable that one day my school counselor gently…

I've sat for a long time. I've never known what to say about me. Is he like a monk: quiet, and contemplative? Is he like a fighter: full of bold pride, and anger? I've always been curious, asked myself these questions. There's never been a solid answer. People are too fluid for that. Defined moment by moment, we're allotted some freedom in what we do and who we can be.…

At first, hearing that I’m able to do anything I want with no repercussions sounds amazing, but when I think more and more about it, it doesn’t seem as pleasing. When I begin to think about this concept, I think about things that increases my wealth and stuff that I just want. Of course, it would be fun to break the law for the first couple of times, but after that, it just gets boring and tedious. Not only that, I don’t think I could just do certain things. My morals and the way I grew up wouldn’t allow me. Furthermore, life would be pointless. There wouldn’t be a reward system. For example, I wanted a pair of shoes. My parents didn’t want to buy for me because they didn’t see them as something I needed, so I worked for it. I worked as a…
