I’ve known her for 6 years now and I’ve never met a person like her. With every passing moment, she is always influencing me to be a person, whether it be something as large as accountability and communication or something as simple as recycling. Throughout high school, she has obtained many leadership positions that have showcased my abilities to handle responsibility and mentor underclassmen. One being elected to be a part of my school’s student council 2 years in a row; allowed me to motivate and inspire many upperclassmen to get more involved in school activities and social events. A main leadership position that she obtained that heavily influenced me when she became section leader as well as a part of band council. I learned the value of influencing my peers to continue to grow their musical abilities, character, and education to help establish a great music program. She was always confronted with situations where someone wanted to quit the program because “it was not for them”, but she constantly reminded them that she had once experienced the same dilemma and they were not alone. She would make herself available to everyone’s needs and made sure they felt they were getting the help they needed to be successful in the
