At the age of six I joined Cub Scout pack 712 and from there my love for scouting was born. I remember learning simple skills like how to identify different trees and plants and how to make a birdhouse. But I also learned more important things like the importance of charity and volunteering in the community. I became an official Boy Scout of troop 1843 at the age of ten years old. From there I moved through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star Scout, and Life Scout. About a year ago, I started the paperwork portion of my Eagle Scout Project. For my project, I constructed a three fourths mile hiking trail for the Jefferson Place Estates Garden Club And by the end of this year this year I will formally be awarded the rank of Eagle Scout.
I can confidently say that being involved in Boy Scouts has changed me for the better. I have picked up so many important skills like knowing how to talk to people, how to be a leader, and how to treat people. Getting to this point was not by any means easy, but I can proudly say that is was the best decision I have ever
