Personal Narrative: The Defendant Is Not Guilty
“The defendant is…not guilty,” said the judge. Yes, my plan actually worked. I can’t believe that Herb actually made everybody agree that I was innocent. I actually got away with killing my idiotic father. Oh I despised him so much, he would beat me and yell at me for no apparent reason. I remember that day like it was yesterday, I went to the drugstore and bought myself a switchblade knife. I was so irritated and I was ready to do anything to get rid of that old hag. I walked into the apartment and he was sitting down at the table. I snuck up behind him and stabbed him in the chest as hard and fast as I possibly could. He yelled then turned around and looked at me with a shocked look then fell on the ground. Right when he died, I felt devastated but also overjoyed because I wasn’t going to get abused anymore, however, I also lost my dad. …show more content…
While I was out walking I was planning on how I will react to seeing him there lying on the ground with the knife in his chest. Also I didn’t know if the police was going to be there so I was practicing my facial reaction to make it seem I was so surprised. I came up with a story of how I wasn’t home to make it seem I had no possible way of killing my father. I walked back home and there was the police in my apartment taking pictures and investigating the scene. The officer comes over to me asking where I have been and who is this. I answered him while trying to sound shocked and devastated. They told me that I have to go to court where the jury will decide if I am guilty or not. The next day I reached out to my older friend Herb who is going to be part of the jury and I begged him to convince everybody that I am not guilty. I specifically told him to do whatever it takes to get me free and I will do anything to repay him.

It’s not a secret that there is still injustice and racism amongst the African American community. Too often I hear and read these type of stories about us protecting ourselves or our loved in return going to jail for it. And a lot of time these type of stories always seems to only consist of us. I wish the system wasn’t rigged, but it is. It is like we have a right to be free, but so many of us get lectured, when we exercise our freedom. The stand your ground laws, hardly if ever have been demonstrated to apply to us, just against us. An Aurora woman facing felony firearm charges for firing warning shots at the gunman who killed her fiancé and father of her two children. In the Chicago tribes 26-year-old Ashley Harrison is getting convicted…

He didn’t he was in jail for looting a dead German on Voinova Street. He was really rude when I tried to make company, but I could understand why because at times like these you can’t trust anyone. I asked him if he was a Jew and he did not appreciate that, because he thought I looked like a Nazi, but after he found I wasn’t he was ok with the question. I gave him some sausage because I figured he would be hungry. We both were wondering why they didn’t shoot us because that was the punishment for both of our measly little crimes.
