Personal Narrative: The Golden Retriever Dog
Max was my best friend. He was a very lively golden retriever with a golden brown body and a white chest. My father got the dog before I was born, and just when he meets my mom. I remember feeding him table scraps and my mom getting mad because he shouldn’t have table scraps. When I was 3 years old he would snuggle with me before I went to bed, but after I got a bunk bed then he would just sleep on the floor of my room. My sister didn’t really get to see him much because he was still a baby when he had to be put down. Max is the name of the golden retriever dog. Maxes favorite toy was a stuffed swirl. Max had a great favorite place by our house, was by an old bridge. That bridge is not operable now but he loved it. When I was little I would ride him like a horse. He would run up and down the stairs with me on his back. Max did not like cats he killed 3 of our neighbors cats in one week, and …show more content…
Riley was a very aggressive dog. That morning he had climbed on Max’s back and threw him to the ground. After that they day was normal, I rode the bus from grandma and grandpas house to school and then got back on the bus at 3:15. When I got home at about 6:30 P.M. I saw Max’s collar on the dining room table. I didn’t think much about it and just started to eat my supper. Then when my dad came in carrying Max’s body into the house. I knew what happened, he was dead. My dad was crying, he had just lost his best friend. At that point I didn’t know what happened. I was little, but latter that night I found out what had happened to Max, he broke three bones in his body because of Riley throwing him to the ground that morning. After we found out why Max had to be put down, we made the tough decision to put Riley down to because he was to aggressive. That day that I lost Max was a day I lost a part of me. I was so sad. I understand now why my best friend was put

It follows Max around and characterizes Max as someone a dog would love, which tells the audience again that he’s not probably going to do something “bad”. The dog also hides at certain points and sniffs around a carcass later. It seems a bit jumpy and scared, so we can tell something bad has happened to either it or Max. While the puppy was with the animal carcass, Max was preserving gasoline or fuel, whatever was coming out of the big truck. That also tells the audience that this isn’t a world with resources readily available, and that it’s likely in the future. He saves the gas by absorbing some of it in a towel and filling plates (or things that can hold something with a curve in them). The importance of them is emphasized when the antagonist on the bike with an orange mohawk rips an arrow from his body but Max looks and ignores it, continuing to preserve the gas. He definitely doesn’t seem afraid of them or what they might do, but that doesn’t matter as much because then they leave. Before that, Max was surveying the site in a weary way; that tells us that his world has likely been how it is shown for a long time. Later on, Max opens the door of the truck and a body falls out, which doesn’t interest him so…

It started off like everyday for every beagle working in the airport. A beagle’s life working in the airport is mainly using our acute sense of smell to sniff out any meats or plants that could possibly carry diseases or pests. I work in the Beagle Brigade at the Tay Airport. The Beagle Brigade is a team of beagles, and human handlers that search for prohibited agricultural products, and unauthorized meats. From what I’ve heard my owner says that without us our foods wouldn’t be safe, and there can be diseases that can be introduced in the U.S.To make it simple, without us humans wouldn’t be safe at all.…

As I walk in through the swinging glass door of my grandparents house, the instant smell of fresh white baked bread hits me. The sweet dough crisped to golden-brown is now in sight. I see it sitting there, on the smooth kitchen table to the left of where I just entered. I know that as soon as I say hello a piece of it will be offered to me. As I continue straight into the open living room I notice my gray-haired grandpa sitting comfortably in his cushioned lazy boy rocker. With every slow rock he makes there is a slight creak that overpowers the sound of the Twins game on their T.V. On the crest of the same rocker lies his favorite dog, Lucy. Her white and black, furry belly expands and compresses at the same rate of the slow rock. My grandma,…

Copper, my dog that I had had since I was borne, was dying. I couldn’t believe my ears. I ran up to my living room and saw Copper lying on the floor. My family dog is a hairless Chinese Crested named Sid. He is a gray, white, and black dog with no hair except on his head, paws, and the tip of his tail. We rescued Sid 8 years ago from Detroit, Michigan. His owners left him outside in the freezing cold when they moved away. They abandoned him. Adopting Sid changed my life forever. By caring for him, I have learned loyalty, responsibility, love, compassion, and patience. These are traits I see and feel within him as well. I believe animals mirror God’s hope and love for us. For example, God wants us to forgive others who have done us harm. Sid has forgiven his original owners by moving beyond the shy and fearful dog he was when we first brought him home. He is a happy and joyful dog now.…

It was October third a thursday night after our freshman football game. Lying in bed, not able to sleep, I hear the doorbell ring and parents going down stairs. Peaking my head around the corner to see who it could be at 11:03 pm. Just to see two state troopers standing in the doorway. My mind and heart automatically beginning to race, and my heart instantly dropping. To hear “I'm sorry to say but your son has been killed in a car accident in Ames Iowa”. A devastating night I will remember forever. With emotions being spilled and tears being shed it’s hard to stay strong for each other in that specific moment, but I know that I have to be there…

After my mom washed this dog, she told me that we needed to take help Drake out by taking him on walks, so we did. Every day I was at school excited to take him out to the park and run around and play. I had been a couple months when we came to the conclusion to start taking him home here and there. He grew happier and more attached everyday, excited to see us every time we picked him up from the rescue, and so did I. It was around this time when we started to take him with us to the church meetings and he was not really dog friendly, so that did not go so well. Shortly after we signed foster papers, which meant he was with us full time, but the rescued owned him and payed for…
