As I stepped into the mud colored cattle car, just the sight of it had made me wince. As I entered, it was like the other passengers were staring at me with shame, since if you were in the cattle car you had to of done something bad. I quickly put my head down. I could just feel the sticky wretched smell of feces and body odor in the car. My mother and I put our suitcases on the shelves, heaving them with all our strength to the very top shelf. We waited hours for in the dark, crammed, and smelly car before we started moving.…

It was about 1950. Larry Meyers and I had just watched Joey Chitwood’s Thrill Show. Chitwood drove a car on two wheels with the right side in the air. We had never seen that kind of driving before. Didn’t know a car could do all that. He jumped a few cars, and rolled a few cars, too. This was at the Jantzen Beach track a ¼ mile asphalt track. We came away excited and confident that we could drive like that. We went out and bought a 1920 Chrysler sedan. It had flower vases hanging inside of the back doors. It was tired and worn out, a sad old car. We bought it for $15 from some guy in our neighborhood. We never even bothered to ask if it could run. It needed work but could get up to 40 mph. That was good enough for us. We immediately…

I know you constantly claim that there is nothing wrong with my car, but Kevin holds a large amount of problems and difficulties that are constantly looked over. For example, Kevin’s engine can be heard from miles away, and the engine gets so obnoxiously loud in the vehicle that you cannot hear the person sitting next to you. In addition, Kevin’s brakes screech like nails on a chalkboard, the rearview mirror has fallen from the windshield many times before, and the CD player does not function properly. Often I find myself discovering some other element of the car that is damaged or broken. Kevin looks and runs smoothly now, but who is to say that he will tomorrow?…

In the middle of the night I heard a noise I woke from my slumber to see all sorts of weird creatures, where am I,how did I get here, how do I get home. I started to wonder around trying to find my way home when I realized I was in a fairytale I read a few days before. I keep on moving forward until I ran into a talking frog bubbles. Bubbles said to listen close because he would only say this ones he said to find the weeping willow tree with a star in it and find the stone that fit in the star to get home. So I started to look for the tree with the heart in it and the stone that fit in the star. Then I ran into a dragon that said to find the path with purple stones on it to find the star stone…

This is so ridiculous, all I wanted to do was see a move. Its bad enough that i can’t walk home without being called “Greaser!” as an insult, but now I get beat up too! I hate this town so much sometimes. The main reason I really hate it here is because of the Socs. They can’t find anything better to do, so they cause havoc.…

I remember when I realised I was an outsider. I can’t have been more than 5 or 6. I was exploring, and I walked into a clearing, and I could see children my age playing a little way off. I had never met anyone my age before. I ran to join in with their game, but when I was about 10 metres away from the other kids I collided with something. Something hard, cold and vitreous. I returned to my family and learned I had run into The Barrier.…

I felt like I was in the back of a cop car. There was a divider between the driver and I, I couldn’t roll down my window, I couldn’t open my door. This car was probably cleaner than a cop car, though. I’ve never been in the back of a cop car, but I would expect it to be less sanitary than this all too clean car.…

As a racecar driver’s girlfriend, there’s normally no relaxing weekends. Well as long as it's still racing season anyways. The most of the time my weekends are spent in the shop either observing or helping the boys out with their car, but I normally just tend to supervise and not do any of the work. Once Saturday comes around we’re loading up and either heading out to the race track in Ada, Ardmore, or Meeker. It can be pretty stressful out at track whenever you’ve got four boys and none of their cars are running correctly. There’s also no decent bedtime either we don’t typically get back home till after midnight sometimes that’s when were just leaving the track.…

I sat in the front seat as the officer drove down broadway to Santa Maria high school to pick up Roberto. My hart was pounding as we pulled up into the schools parking lot, after about ten minutes passed I felt like I was about to puke but held back. Then suddenly I saw border patrol with my brother, when I looked at him he was resisting and trying to run away. Once the border patrol settled him down he put them in the car and they where on a strait away to Mexico. While we where in the car on the highway I was tearing up and thinking about how much I was missing my family when I looked at Roberto I noticed he was fidgeting with something in his hands, as I looked closer I noticed that he had a paper clip in his hands and that he was trying…

I was crusing on Route 44 on my way to Friendly Honda and pulled into the Parts and Services lot. I could see my new car parked right in front of the door next to my fathers desk. It looked just like he said, " It's a 1997, red, fairly old, in great condition Honda Accord. An older chinese couple had it for years and decided to trade it in, perfect for you sweetie". He could have said the engine was busted up and the windows didnt go down, but regardless I wouldn't have noticed. All I could think about was crusing down Route 9 with my girls, wind in our hair, and music so loud the car would shake. My father insisted on taking it for a test drive with me so I became farmiliar with it’s motion. After our joyride, he stopped at the Gulf across the street, filled up my tank, and asked what my plans were. " Most likely picking Kristen up and then going to the mall, thats it". Kristen Ravetti was my best friend at the time, and in my defense, that was my original plan.…

There were 4 cars including ours. Well here’s the rub, that day my cousin was driving like a normal person but I don’t exactly remember what happened but the car went out of his control and went off road. First, the tires got burst then the car hit a big rock and after that the car drifted to right and flipped over three times. The second time the car rolled over I thought it’s my last moment of life but by the Grace of Allah when the car stopped rolling it stood straight. I and my cousins rushed out of the car drag my sisters out and then went away from the car if in case it explodes. It was so scary that one of my other cousins who were riding in other car behind us saw the whole seen and she got faint. It was so scary that whoever sees the condition of the car gets frightened and none believed that we survived after seeing the condition of the car. Well we all somehow managed and controlled ourselves, sat in other 3 cars and came back home. It was a miracle that no one in the car got a single bruise.…
