Personal Narrative: Twelve Sentence Story
Twelve Sentence Story It was December, 18 2008. I was eight years old and with one of my old friends Brandi. School was cancelled so we thought it would be fun to play in the snow, we both were not expecting the consequences from it. We were all ready to go outside, all dressed up and warm. There was way more ice on the ground than snow, and that was going to be a problem. Everywhere you stepped you would slide and fall. We grew with excitement to go out and have some fun. Then We went to the shed to go get our sleds. My favorite sled was the saucer, and Brandi’s was the normal long one. We were both so excited to go out and sled. We got to our spots and got ready to go. Suddenly my dad came out, he wanted to give me a push. After

His legs pushed him around the ice as he took several deep breaths then stood in the middle of the pond. 'Breath it is just a few spins and jumps.' Fay thought to himself as he did such a routine and started to smile as he added a few other things. His father had trained him but after the fire the ice was really his only place that felt safe for him. He skated and skated until he was mentally and physically exhausted maybe he would be able to sleep a few hours before going into work at the small cafe. He sat down on the ice feeling the cold rush to his warm body as he looked at the grey sky and smiled "Perfect time for a storm."He said as he laid on the ice looking as the lightning danced across the sky in an intense way that made Fay relax more and not hear the ice starting to crack. His hand pushed the black hair out of his face as he sat up when he heard a noise and realized it was the damn ice cracking. He swallowed hard. "This isn't good."He groaned as he tried to shift his weight evenly but soon was engulfed in the icy November water. He tried to grab onto the edge of the ice but no such luck as he went under filling his lungs with the icy liquid making sure he couldn't even try to hold…

It was a Sunday morning in Russell Manitoba, where we decided to go to Asessippi. My brothers were so excited, as was I. Snowboarding and skiing are something that we have never done before. My mother, “Regina Hopkins,” has been a positive influence in my life. She has raised 6 kids all by herself as well as earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a City College in Gainesville, Florida. My mother has been through pretty much everything a person can go through outside of war and was still able to be there and provide for all 6 of her kids. In high school, my mother wanted to play football and couldn't because she was a girl and back-in-the-day women were not allowed to play football with the guys. However, she remained strong by raising 6 kids and independently took care of all of us on her own. My mother has several qualities that I would love to develop. The first quality she has is balance; she certainly knows how to make…

It was a perfectly normal Saturday night, until I sat on the couch. I expected to enjoy a funny movie with my dad, but instead I got a trip to the hospital. I sat on the couch, and then I felt a sting in my elbow. At first, it felt like I got a shot at the doctor, but it slowly got worse, and felt more like a knife slicing into my elbow. I winced and sprung up from the couch. I squinted and my eyes scanned the spot where I just sat down. Aha, I thought. There was a small piece of plastic, and it looked like it broke off from a container.…

Throughout my life I have encountered many circumstances that have shaped me into the person I am today. I was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I attended school in Mexico all the way to second grade. In the summer of 2006 I moved to Cumming, Georgia. It was the hardest thing to do because I left everything that I care the most about. We lived in a trailer which was not the nicest place and in the middle of the forest. I started school at the beginning of August. I had always loved school so I was so excited for the first day. I knew it was going to be hard because I would have to conquer so many obstacles on the way. At this time the only English I knew was probably counting from one to ten and some of the colors. My Father knew some…

It was the middle of January, the year of 1999, and I was eight years old. Winter Vacation had arrived and I was on my break from school. My grandmother had called my father and asked if my brother and I would be interested in going snow tubing at Hunter Mountain, and I was so excited that I nearly peed my pants. The plans had been arranged and set for the following morning, so we went directly to bed with smiles on our faces.…

I had my best friend by my side and absolutely zero worries. As soon as we got finished with our craft section for the day, we had free time. As a kid in Pre-School, there was not anything better than having free time to grow friends and evolve social skills needed in life. Jake, my best friend, and I ran over to the box full of blocks as soon as Mrs. Pockman let us go. He grabbed one end and I grabbed the other, working together to complete one common goal. We began to assemble our favorite creation, a skate park. A skate park to four year olds was a ramp made out of building blocks that we were able to skate down with using a block as a skateboard. The time finally arrives, we have finished our masterpiece and we were ready to shred. After about 30 minutes of Jake and I switching off turns and aiding each other down the slope, the time came. I slid down the ramp and came to a swift stop, I picked up my disproportional four-year-old head slowly and I met eyes with the class bully,…

I ran in the kitchen and asked my grandmother if I could go outside and play in it and she shook her head yes but told me that I needed to put on a lot of layers, gloves, a coat, and a hat. I agreed and rushed to get dressed. It probably only took me about ten minutes to brush my teeth and get all of my clothes on, that’s how excited I was. I ran out the door and the first thing I did was dove right onto the ground and made a snow angel like I had seen on TV. The snow was so much more than what I had imagined. It was so white and shiny and it was as soft as cotton until you made a snow ball that felt like a tennis ball when you got hit with it.…

I was born in Brazil. It is a tropical place and I have never seen snow there. The first time I saw snow was such a dream come true and it was one of the best experiences in my life. When I saw snow for the first time, I was in New York. When I saw it was snowing, I thought I was being blessed. To see snow for the first time was wonderful and I have never thought about how it was making that experience magical and scary at the same time. I got out the house because I wanted to feel and see it closer and better. I was taking many pictures when suddenly I realized I could not feel my hands. My fingers were very cold and I started to feel some pain because of that. I ran into the house and put my hands in the hot water. It was very bad and I felt more pain. I was crying because I was feeling pain. I went to the bedroom to put my hands in a blanket and I stood there for a long time. When I started to feel better and warm, I was able to relax.…
