For example when I was younger I played soccer for 8 years, which helped me grow my passion for other things besides soccer even stronger. When I joined water polo, I had to try out for the team, which made me nervous because I wanted to make the team. I then found out that nobody gets cut which made me feel a whole lot better. Once on the team for my freshman year, I really didn’t play much, and I feel as if I was the worst one on the team. I couldn’t keep up with all the other girls and I was falling behind. I had to get myself back on track and eventually I became better. I became so much better than my sophomore year I moved up to JV. I just had to keep pushing myself and my junior year I became JV captain, which was almost good enough for varsity, my coach told me. And finally, now my senior year on varsity with all my other senior friends who have worked just as hard as I have to reach up to this point. Throughout this 4 year challenge, certain things have gotten in my way, like my lack of self confidence. Each time I was feeling hard on myself, I had to think about my sport and how water polo is one of the hardest sports you can play This made me feel so much better because I realize many people cant even swim or float in the water so the fact that I can play water polo and I am actually halfway-decent is really amazing to me. At my faults, I needed to realize that I can achieve great things with a little believing in yourself, and with being on varsity, believing in myself has shaped me all 4 years and especially this year knowing I’m on the highest team you can be
