Shww! the door flew open “Hurry Aidan get ready for baseball,” Mom yelled, “you're going to be late.” I didn’t want to be late. It is only my first game and I would’ve already had a bad impression to my coach.
Dad said, “You don't want to be late for baseball, now do you?”
“No why would I?” so I ran to my room. My room was so bright from the sun I had to squint my eyes. I put my stuff on. I could hear my brother yelling at my dad, it sounded like he was complaining about something. I couldn’t quite understand what he was saying, but I didn’t care though it wasn’t about me. My sisters were playing outside and it sounded like chaos. So I walked out of my room.
I put my cleats on and started walking to the
car and tripped. I picked up my stuff and got in the car. My Mom asked “Are you excited?”
“Yes, I am” I said.
We got there I played catch. I thought to myself, “what if I miss the ball?
What if they laugh at me?” Then I remembered a week before I told myself I was going to hit the ball. Then I thought “What if I trip or drop the ball?” I stopped freaking out and got to the dugout.
We were up to bat first and I was glad. I couldn’t wait to hit the ball. When I was up to bat, I was saying to myself, “ I can do it, I can do it, I can do it.” I hit the ball and it went flying! I was so excited.
I learned that I don’t need to worry, I just need to do it. I shouldn’t just think I can't do something because it’s my first year. I don't think anything bad will happen or people will laugh at me anymore. I can do anything if I put my mind to it, and nobody can tell me I can’t, no matter what.
