Personal Narrative: When People's Goals
When People’s Goals are to do Everything for You
Have you ever had that person that follows you around and tries to clean up and get everything for you, well I have and that is my pet peeve. This has always annoyed me and continues to annoy me. I am going to talk about people that annoy me that I know, why it bothers me, and what do I do about it.
There are many people that do this that I know and I am going to talk about them. One of my Grandmas does this every time I see her. I know she is just being nice but I can’t do anything otherwise she tries to do it for me. If I am watching TV she will try to get me something and I say “ I am good but thanks for offering and I can get it myself.”. This may not bother other people but I have 2 legs and I can use them. Another person that I used to know from my old school did this constantly. I wasnt just me but he would try to get everybody what they wanted and would pester us until we let him. I have the ability to do these things and I have the time so I shouldn’t depend on other people to do this for me. Another reason this annoys me is when they follow you around constantly. It seems they have nothing else to do but to serve you and I cant get anything done because they are right behind me. Lastly they do it when you are busy and working on something. You are working, watching something, or trying to read and you hear “ What are you doing and do you want something”. I wish people could just see what you are doing and learn to wait until a better time.
When people are doing this to me I try to be nice about it. I will try leaving the area or situation so I dont have to deal with it. Another thing I do is tell them I can do it. I have legs so why not use them. And finally I will just get up and do it really quickly so they cant ask me
