Personal Narrative: Who Is The Best Athlete
Who Is The Best Athlete?

I believe Gabby Douglas is the best women’s athlete for gymnastics. She didn’t let anything tear her down. If she fell she got back up, and said “Let’s try it again.”

Biography.com says “She is the first African American to win the indivual all-around event. She also won a team gold medal for the U.S. 2012 Summer Olympics.” She was the first African in 12 years to make the U.S. Olympic team.

It proves that Gabby had to have determination and support to get where she is now. Also it says that not only was she striving for success, she was committed to not letting anything or anyone get in her way. Gabby was so driven to make it she even sacrificed leaving her family to get better coaching in another state.
