Personal Narrative-Zac Efron In High School Theatre
“205, 341, 201, 210, and 372 please come back onto the stage.” 210, that’s me. I was frozen, I could feel the countless pairs of eyes beating down on me. I felt a hand push me forward, probably Cristina. I quickly glance around the stage, seeing if there was anyone I knew. My eyes spot Emily, center left stage, a smile plastered on her face. I immediately change my expression of fear into a confident smile. ‘Always smile with your eyes,’ my teacher’s advice replays in my head. Bill’s loud, cheesy voice soon filled the room.
“Alright girls, you will do the dance once, without Ben helping. Then, us judges,” he gestures to the panel of judges. One of them being Bonnie Story, choreographer of High School Musical. How could I ever show up Zac Efron?

32 “Well its actually happening ma’, I’m goin’ back to school.”Rufus said. “I want you to know, I truly am proud of you Rufus.” His mother replied. Curtis and Janet went to a different school then Rufus but he still walked them to school then walked himself to school. On his way to school a car followed him very slowly but Rufus kept walking. When he got to school it looked the same on the outside that it always had. Rufus pushed open the doors at Searingtown School and yelled “I’m back!” All of his friends ran over to hug him. He went down to the office to get a tour he thought he didn’t need because he remembered every single solitary thing about this place. While the tour was going on everything going on was a blur. He looked left, right and left again, admiring the changes the school had made. “Wow” he sighed. “Is there a problem Rufus?” the tour guide asked. Rufus answered, “When I was here the wall paint was all chipped, there were broken windows and holes in the walls.” “Oh ok, well that concludes our tour and this door on your right is your first period class.” The tour guide replied. Rufus walked in and sat at an available seat at the back of the class room. He opened his notebook and took notes even though he didn’t understand anything that was going on. By the time 5th period came around it was time for lunch he was starving. All of his friends called him over and asked him to sit with him. Momma didn’t make him a big lunch because they didn’t have that much food in the house and then needed to split it 3 different ways. Allison who used to have a big crush on Rufus sat right next to him. Mitchell and Charlie sat across from him and Christina, Alisha and Sammy sat around them. When the bell rang he went to his locker and when he got to class he looked out the window and saw the same car that followed him to school. The only person he thought of was Simon. But he didn’t have a car? Rufus ran to the office to explain the…

Walking up the drive towards the cottage, Sam thought about just how freakish it would be to be chased by a half-naked, bearded man. That sight seemed fitting to Sam, and enough of a scare to not bother the boys’ mothers. As he hobbled his way towards where the front door should have been, nursing what he thought to be a pulled hamstring, Sam took a moment to reflect on the splattering of eggs. The yellow yokes harshly contrasted the deep blackness of the wood shingles. He found the empty carton cast haphazardly next to the blank spot in the rock border. The Boston boy, having used the last of the eggs, decided to instead throw a rock in an effort to impress his new friends.…

When I started Unity High School I thought that we were going to get a lot of work from my classes, and that work was going to be extremely hard. I also thought that I wasn't going to have any free time to do anything because of that, but it turned out to be wrong because the teachers give us a good amount of work but its not really hard. I thought that making friends in Unity would be hard in a sort of way but it was quit easy because everyone else was trying to make friends too. When I first got to Unity I also thought that there was going to be a few school clubs, but there is a good amount of clubs that students can join if they want to join some type of club. I think as a person I have grown more since first coming to Unity because I…

These past few years at Lionville Middle School have been some of the most memorable and exciting parts of my life. I came to Lionville Middle School from Shamona Creek Elementary. Shamona Creek elementary was much smaller than the gargantuan, new middle school. Also, there were so many more students and teachers. I expected the middle school to be filled to the brim with classrooms and I was correct. Some of my first memories here are quietly coming into the school and looking for my classroom. I did not even know where to go or how to get there. All around I saw kids getting to their classes right away, while I was stuck in the hallways. Fortunately, I saw a friend and followed him toward my new classroom. When I got my new locker, I had…

The light were bright people surrounded everywhere. There was 1 minute left in the last quarter and lebron and kyrie were trailing 106 to 92. LeBron called a timeout midway at the 30 second mark to figure out which play would be the most strategize play too come up with that he had done in his highschool years . I was sitting in the first floor holding a poster waving it around in a figure eight motion but he wouldn't look so i took it upon myself too walked up and asked “ lebron what are you thinking bringing a high school play too the nba are you out of your mind there's 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter and you're trying to pull this stunt off ? A few years before this, many incidents occurred which prodded colonists to rise up against the tyrannical British Parliament, one of such events was the event known as the Boston Massacre. This event occurred on March 5, 1770. A squad of British soldiers, come to support a sentry who was being pressed by a heckling, snowballing crowd, let loose a volley of shots. Three persons were killed immediately and two died later of their wounds. The British officer in charge, Capt. Thomas Preston was arrested for manslaughter, along with eight of his men; all were later acquitted. This horrendous event assisted in unifying the colonies with one goal: to end the tyrannical reign of the British Parliament and its violation of basic, essential human rights that no man, government, or group had any right to infringe upon. The Boston Massacre sparked the colonists’ desire for independence for all Americans. This desire was the main factor in the birth of the American Revolutionary War, and subsequently the United States of America.…

Role playing for me is very anxiety inducing. I am not a good public speaker and I hate it when all the attention is on me. I am an introvert to the core. Going into the role play I was nervous and uncomfortable and was anticipating a challenging experience. I looked up and there he was singing my favorite song. The whole stadium was roaring like a lion. My friend Sam and I were screaming “baby, baby, baby oh”. We jumped like everyone else. The stadium was shaking. My mom fastened my arm rapidly. There was sweat dripping down my friend Sam’s forehead like a waterfall. When the song ended, that is when everything settled down a bit and my mom then released my arm. Which made me feel a little bit less distressed.…

The next day I was nursing a giant lump swollen on my forehead. Zoe did end up helping me with a couple of new moves. Mostly just basic stuff I already knew, but one cool thing, in particular, was called The Zoe Flurry. Which I believed to be the worst sounding name of anything I've ever heard of. Although it was a pretty cool attack. I'll giver that. I may even decide to adopt the move myself, but without the horrible name. Maybe The Kade Crush? That sounded loads better, but I wasn't gonna waste too much time coming up with dumb names for my moves. Because today I had something much better planned. Today, I would finally get my Archery training and I was already getting pumped up thinking about it. I just know I'm going to go out there and…

I remember being in high school. Laying in bed every single night, until I'd fall asleep: praying. I was never really that religious but, there was something that I wanted so desperately… a boy. Just one boy, to prove me wrong; to take away all the confusion and the fear. One boy that I could fall in love with and be able to tell myself, ”I'm not gay after-all.” I know you understand, you're the one living it.…

The day finally came for the auditions of Triple Take. I sat in Mrs. Moreland’s Class waiting for my turn to shine on the dance floor. Right then, after all that hard work and practicing non stop, I started to doubt myself on making the role. My whole body was shaking from a heart being so flustered from my worries. The growing fear of embarrassment was nearly out of control. It just kept getting bigger within me, causing the pain from practicing over the last two weeks get worse. I was shaking in fear and sweating with the pressure of patience. I kept glancing at the clock every two minutes, knowing that maybe I could just call my mom and leave. Yet, again I told myself not to, that I had worked hard to get to where I am now, and not to waste…

One thing I do differently from everyone else is to set goals that are unattainable to reach. To most people, doing this might sound ridiculous, but attempting to rise to or above perfection allows me to become the best person I can be. While it may seem like I am the most extreme form of a perfectionist you can find, there is reason behind my madness, which all started with me being in theatre.…
