What’s your personal
Philosophy to create a good life?

Everyone has a personal philosophy to a good life. Some people think that money will create a good life and others think its by surrounding themselves with theoretically “good people”. Even though some people have other personal philosophies, I have my own. My personal philosophy to a good life is just be who you are and not what other people want you to be. Like singer/songwriter Bruno Mars says be “Just the way you are”. When you are your self no one can tell you what to do. You just have to be proud of yourself. You have to take control of your life. If you want it to change you have to do it yourself.
People tell me that I am weird the way I am but I am proud of the way I am. If people don't appreciate me then they do not need to be around me. I don't appreciate mean people or people who don't like me. I am the way I am. I am a band geek, total video game nerd, and I am a huge dork when it comes to girly girl stuff. I wear makeup but thats just because I have been wearing it since 6th grade and I want to. I can't stand dresses or skirts. My best friend is a girl but then all my other friends are guys. That is just the way I am and Im proud of the way I am. I have a good life so I figure that it is best that I keep my life the way I know it and like it. When I was younger I wasn’t always proud of my self. I didnt want to be a girly girl. None of the people I hung out with were tomboys. I wanted to be my own person. I started wearing jeans and sweat pants more. No one noticed the difference except for me and it made me much happier because I was living my life like me and different than anyone else. I had an even better life than I had expected. I was happy and that was all that mattered. When I live my life the way I want to I am happy. Its my philosophy and Its my body that I have to take care of for my self. Its my life and I’m taking control of what I want to be. I won’t let anyone else tell

Martin Luther King Jr. once said “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter”. He understood that although a person is breathing, he is not truly alive unless he is living for a purpose. A good life is one that is lived with the intention of constantly bettering oneself and the world in which they live. Unfortunately, this life can only be attained by making sacrifices. Time and independence are both expenses that must be paid in order to live a meaningful, and therefore good, life.…

Since little I was always asked what do I wanna be when I grow up? It’s funny because my parents always told me to just be happy. Whatever I do, whoever i’m with be a happy person. John Lennon gave a great example, As quoted he said “When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” Happiness within is key. If you’re not happy with yourself and what you do then life is just irrelevant.…

People care too much about what others think of them instead of them not caring and just being happy they would rather just hide there natural selves away and just show it when they are alone. When people start to pretend to be someone they are not soon enough they actually become that person. And they start to loose the person they once where. So in my opinion I think that people shouldn't hide who they really are and just be happy because in life your going to get judged on everything you do so just ignore what everyone else thinks and just do you because its your life not theres. Nobody is perfect not one person can say that they are or that they have never made a mistake.…

Money, clothes, cars, houses, and even marriage – these are all things that some may consider to determine whether or not they are living the “good life.” Others may view the good life as being able to enjoy nature every day, being able to run and jump, or even being able to read as many books as they please. Whatever one’s view of having or living the good life may be, there are certain assets or factors in their lives that makes them believe that their lives are good. There are also certain things they did, qualities they possess or steps they took to get to their good-life status. Different people world-wide have different cultures and beliefs, and this leads them to have different perspectives on what the good life exactly is and how one goes about obtaining it.…

Being confident in the way you were created is something I love to portray, which I have been doing since I was in middle school. It being with a decision I made during the last three weeks of my 7th grade year. Every young black boy at the time had the same hair cut (including me), which was an Afro. Being different was always bouncing around in my head, so one day out of curiosity I told myself I wanted to get dreads and I got them after I easily persuaded my parents. When I got them I wasn’t all that excited about them, but I keep them knowing the reason I was doing it. I was mentally prepared for the positive and negative comments I would be getting at school from now on and I promised I wouldn’t let them get to my head. The next day at school it was worse then I thought it would be. Everybody was calling me worm head and saying my head was small like a walnut. Majority of the people at my school didn’t like it and said I looked uglier but a handful of people including myself were looking into the future and seeing a very bright one if I keep them. Having a lot of confidence in myself I didn’t follow the crowd and take my dreads out. I set out on a new road and till this day I have had my dreads for four and a half years and there almost half way down my back. After they started to get longer people looked at them a different…

    Sociological Autobiography

My life started with my long and hard birth on July 14, 1993. I came into the world with a large scream and was immediately placed into some sort of category. The doctors and nurses took a quick look at me, and pronounced me as a girl. This social label of being a girl was now my gender, which is something I had no say in. Every since that very moment in time where my parents were told I was a girl, I have been treated according to my gender. This meant that my parents automatically dressed me in pink, bought me dollhouses and kitchen sets and threw me Barbie themed birthday parties. Since I was surrounded my whole entire life by these things, it was almost like second nature to think and act the way that I did and still do. My socialization skills, which to put simply are the accepted ways in society to behave or how I express myself, have all been shaped by the fact that I am a female. The socialization process is how we learn to act or to follow norms along with what to believe. There have been many agents of socialization in my life, which are the people and types of situations that teach us as human beings how to act and can shape your personality which I’m going to describe.…

Everyone should be themselves all the time because it makes them unique. Many ask, what’s so great about being different? Others would say individuality is an important characteristic. As an illustration, I met a girl who wanted to change who she was so others would like her. She tried very hard to make friends, but it didn’t work. Alas, she grew tired of being something that she’s not and went back to her old self. When she accepted the fact the she was not like her classmates, other things began to come to mind. She didn’t care what others thought of her, and actually started to make some friends. Today, that girl is still happy; while, she is still being herself. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to change yourself to impress…

I think a personal philosophy of success should be a hope or dream to both people who want to achieve a dream in the future and to people who hasn’t achieved their dream in life. For instance, someone has many degrees of higher education; but has the need to want a higher degree; so his/her philosophy of success would be to get a senior degree. Another example would be someone who doesn’t have anything in life; but want to achieve a dream to make his/her life worthy; so his/her philosophy would be to earn a dream that he/she has been yearning. I would be one of those people who have a diploma; but want to achieve a superior degree. As I quote from Albert Einstein “The ideals which have lighted me on my way and time after time given me new courage to face life cheerfully, they have been Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. . . . The ordinary objects of human endeavor -- property, outward success, luxury -- have always seemed to me contemptible.” This quote makes me think of my background, where I came from, how far I’ve come, and looking back at all the people who have supported me in life. My personal philosophy of success would be to achieve my personal dream as a doctor. I have had the dream of one day becoming a doctor since the death of my grandparents and the people around me that are sick, dying, and in need of medical care. I always wanted to be the person who saves another life. I want to be an example for my peers, my children, and children peers. I want to be someone that both my generation and the generation that follows to respects, honor and follow not only in my footsteps; but in other honorable wonderful successful individuals who make something of themselves. I am strongly willing to bring forth my dream by preventing and stopping anything that comes in the direction of my path to success. For example: drugs, alcohol, and peer pressure. I think those three things will not prevent me from not achieving my goals if I wasn’t as strong as I am today. My most…
