In conflict resolution a number of factors that bring themselves forth. First, there is the need to analyze a situation so that it would be possible to analyze the conflict type. In a situation, which there is a conflict between people in the community and they sit down until the conflict is resolved, there are a number of views, which are created (Lewicki, Barry, & Saunders, 2007). A case in example is a video that TED talks about the way there is a conflict between people of the society. Expert power is the type of power that involves a number of factors. The first and foremost factor is that the mediator in the situation knows a lot of the topic about the subject matter that is being disputed. The power is the one that is derived from the post that he or she holds in the community.
The personal power type that the mediator holds in the conflict thus brings the relative power balance in the situation forth. The only way of reducing the conflict is understanding the way the people who are involved in the quarrel can reach to a resolution. In a bid to do this, there is the need of creating a soft and neutral power where the mediator understands what are the grievances of each side in the quarrel (Youtube, 2011). Through finding the neutral spot, there is the possibility of creating a point of solution since the mediator will be able to find out the areas of conflict in a simple and impartial way. Therefore, when approaching a conflict, there is the need of coming out with a clear analysis of the way people in the conflict
