Personal Reflective Analysis: Morehouse College Quartet
There are often times where I as the baritone of the Morehouse College Quartet have to conduct my own personal reflective analysis of performances. During these personal reflective analysis' I have intrinsically accept my mistakes and create a plan of action to correct the mistakes to move forward to be a better member of the team. For example, when we performed at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Marietta, GA; there was a moment during our set where I completely forgot the lyrics; which in turn left my part unsung, furthermore not ensuring that the group upheld the legacy of excellence. In that moment I knew that the other members of the quartet would be upset, which they had every right to be, however I knew that I could not dwell on the mistake.
I immediately, established and implemented a plan to ensure that I would never repeat the same mistake. This plan entailed longer practice sessions and study hours to thoroughly analyze each piece of music to intricately dissect each measure of music to insure perfection. The current outcome has been SUCCESS.
I have learned that, when the storms are raging to keep focused and fight until the finish. It takes a legions of self-efficacy to perform not only on stage, but also in the real world.
