Time management is an important concept in personal responsibility. Knowing how to manage your time can help you successfully go through your academic career. Going back to school as an adult can be a lot to chew if you are not careful. With a full time career, or maybe a full time mom/dad situation can easily distract you and lead you to stray off your course. There are things you can do to help you manage your time and your busy schedule. Writing down daily steps until it’s comfortable, such as how time is spent will allow a good comparison of how time is managed. Doing this for about two weeks or so can help you get a routine down and see where you are spending your time. Another method you can use comes from Assistant Professor Charles Kein, who had his students come up with a time card with "Today 's Goals:" which had three to four goals for the day to help them along with their time management. (2011) Also, planning ahead by scheduling can keep you structured and allows planning to become more effective. Dealing with time management can be tough, but with discipline you can conquer.
