What is responsibility? Personal Responsibility is being accountable for a task and seeing it through completion. The three main keys for personal success are using time management skills, having motivation and financial management.
Setting time management skills could be difficult for a student that’s starting school again or for the first time. In an article called Pro Health Net an author named Doug Booster states “Managing your time ineffectively can impact your health and wellness in many ways. The results of poor time management include (but not limited to) feelings of despair, failure, anxiety – and can contribute to fatigue, chronic stress, low productivity, and slow advancement in the workplace. Healthy and successful people tend to be good time managers “ (Booster, pg 1). When adding the responsibility of school for most people it becomes difficult to manage time for work, family and personal time. Developing strategies for good time management decreases stress and improves self-confidence. Booster also states “Effective time managers generally feel good about what they accomplish – which gives them a sense of control – which leads to positive feelings about themselves – which improves self-esteem – which results in higher levels of energy, motivation, and less stress. Not a bad sequence of events. But time management is a discipline you have to work at developing. It is a matter of choice; but, you must practice the steps necessary to become a good time manager.” (Booster, pg 1). Some strategies for success are prioritization, organizing and doing one thing at a time but to completion. Effective time management has to be the foundation for a productive and successful life.
