I am currently in year 11 at Carr Manor Community School and have been present here since 2010. I am currently studying for my final GCSE exams which will take place in June 2015. I am organised, punctual and very hardworking and believe that to achieve my ideal dreams of working in the financial industry i need to continue to study at the highest level possible. I would like to follow the career path of an economist/financial analysis.
From a very young age i have always been passionate about school and worked hard in order for me to achieve the best grades possible. My strongest subjects are Maths, English and history as i am a logical yet independent worker. I enjoy those subjects the most and feel i can understand and develop my knowledge on them without a problem. My top subject would have to be Maths, i am not only passionate about it but i am also strong in this subject with a target grade of a B, however i know and am determined to achieve higher than that. I will try my best in Maths as it is one of my options i would like to carry on at A-level along with business, history and economics in order to achieve my chosen career.
Outside of school i attend the gym which I enjoy very much. Not only does it motivate me to keep and get fit but also all helps me to relieve stress and anger. I also took part in the Duke of Edinborough award in which i have almost completed. I have fully completed the physical and skill sections as i attended the gym as my chosen physical activity. I also took part n dance classes as my skill which resulted in a performance at Phoenix dance center alongside Northern ballet, an experience that i enjoyed massively. I now only have my voluntary section to complete which i have begun at Bernado's local charity shop. I am really enjoying participating in such activities as not only does it provide me with skills and experiences that i otherwise wouldn’t have, it also allows me to do something that isn’t only

Nursing is such a diverse, challenging and worthwhile career that I really feel it is the right course for me. It is a vocation for people who are practical, conscientious, reliable and who find it easy quickly to establish good, trusting relationships with new people. I have these skills and a genuine desire to help people when they need it most. The role of the nurse is changing in the NHS, with more opportunities for nurses to take greater responsibility for patient care and to become specialists in areas such as intensive care, cancer treatment and other specialties. In studying for a degree in nursing I hope that I will be able to make the most of these opportunities as my career develops. The greater use of Information Technology as the National Programme for IT is implemented in the NHS will have a great impact on the way that patient information is recorded and used by nurses. It will be important that nurses in the NHS are confident in the use of IT and I believe that my A level in Information Technology will help me in this area.…

I started advanced English and math in fourth grade, and still take advanced classes today. My two favorite subjects are math and science. I love how broad science is and how somehow, everything connects to form the world we live in. My favorite aspect of math is how definite it is. I am able to find ways to solve problems, and apply that method to different types of problems. The combination of science and math interests me, because it mixes a very concrete thing and an always-changing field of study. My two favorite subjects led me to a STEM degree, and I know I want math and science involved with my career.…

Welcome to Informed Choices. We hope that you will find this a helpful guide as you consider the best courses and subjects for you to study in the sixth form or at college. We also hope that your parents or carers, teachers and advisers who are helping you make these important decisions will find it useful too. The Russell Group of Universities has produced this guide because we think that it is really important for all young people — especially those whose parents didn’t go to university — to have clear information about how the subjects that they choose to study in the sixth form or at college can affect their options at university and their chances in life. That way, they can make well-informed decisions. As a group of 20 leading universities in the UK, we want to help ensure that young people are well-informed. We have developed this guidance in close consultation with admissions staff and managers in all Russell Group universities and with very helpful advice from the Institute of Careers Guidance. When it comes to choosing your A-levels or other advanced level qualifications, it can be tempting simply to choose subjects that you enjoy and which interest you. But it’s also important to think a bit further ahead and to consider what you might want to do in the future. If the idea of going to university appeals — whether or not you know which subject you want to…
